NASCAR turns right today!

I gotta say, I could actually get into NASCAR if they ran road courses. I'm watching the pre-race stuff and am impressed with the education they are trying to give folks as to what it takes to set up a roundy round car for real racing!

It is odd to see some of the crowd shots. Lots of folks just shouting and holding up beers... and to think that people tell me how much fun these races are in person.

Any thoughts on who is gonna win this thing?

i love my nascar races.
theyre kinda boring on tv but being in the crowd is awesome. its nice to hear the roar of the engines n nothing goes better with it than an ice cold beer. lol.
and not to be mean but its fun to see the crazy wrecks they have.

Racing is in the blood no matter if it's dirt track, auto x, Nascar, F1 or NHRA. It's all racing. It's more of family deal when you race every weekend and see the same people. My heart gose out to the Kalitta family. GODSPEED Scott. Keep this in mind guys. Just have fun eveytime your out there and live a evey min. of it.

The race was hugely entertaining, more so than Formula 1 French GP which happened earlier in the day.

When NASCAR runs at Infineon/Sears Point once a year, it's a riot. Most of them have no idea how to run a road course, but a few of them are really fast.

Yeah, it's interesting to see cars run out of gas. Often you don't see that, if you do it's on the endurance races.

We've got a quite a few nascar fans that we race against/with in our local hillclimb series, and there are even a few stock cars that turn both directions. I think they're getting scared that a bunch of 'grocery getters' are closing in on the records.

Here's a pic of one of my buddies at an event a few years ago...this wasn't photochopped, one of the beauties of open spectating.

Sears Point and Watkins Glen are the only 2 NASCAR races I can stomach watching. The only cars I can stand racing in a circle are INDY cars.

ok for all the haters dont talk bad about nascar until you get in those cars.. . . tell you what scary as ****. . . . fwent to a nascar training camp. once . . . first they take you in a bus to the turns and i **** you not i thought the bus was goignt o roll when he stopped it on the incline . second when you are going 170-180 in a circle that is fast as hell and requires alot more effort then the ignorant people on here think. (i didnt drive ) but they had mall of us in a passenger side, and one they are fighting witht the car the whole time they are goign straight. and being the passenger you see how close they get to the walls. scary dont hate . . . .

to me it is like golf i have the deepest since of respect for the drivers but i am not always a fan of watching it
