You know, I probably forgot to mention that because I forget to do it out on course all the time. I have a problem focussing on one element until I'm past it, then looking up to see what I'm about to hit . . .

Heck, I even look out my rear view and side mirrors to see if I hit that last cone that I thought I hit. . . Lately I've been turning them in so I can't look . . .

Our club had a pretty close relationship w/ the previous Evo School owners & I used to run their courses over & over while they did the final classroom portion of the school (the site is only 15 mins from my house). They literally programed me to look ahead--the hardest thing I've ever had to train myself to do consistently.
Admittedly, my driving left a good bit to be desired before they showed me the light--super aggressive, but no skill

When I instruct now, I tell the driver subtly to look where he's going & point in that direction (ahead). I'm really surprised some old-timers (some who are very good), tell me 'thanks, that really helped!'...
