fire extinguisher and mount locations...

Anyone have a fire extinguisher and mount setup in their car and can share pics of best mounting location.

I assume something within hands reach when strapped into the harness would be best?

I have it narrowed down to the following:

1) Amerex 2.5 lb dry chemical and mount - $40 at Ioport
2) H3R 2.5 lb extingiusher and billet cage mount - $100 at summit racing

If someone could suggest which is better, that would be great

i'd like the same info but i'd also add to skip the dry chem and go for halon of they have it. Dry chem is a B***H to clean up.

I don't know if that guy is still making those, but they give you an idea of what you could have a local shop fabricate.

You're going to be hard pressed to find a solution that allows you to get to the fire extinguisher while still belted in your harness. Look at rally cars, the hand fire extinguishers are on the floor, the fire suppression system is within reach while still belted in. If you can't run a full suppression system, I think the floor is fine, there just isn't much other choice.

Wheelgap - I agree with your thinking, I am really unsure if having the extinguisher by the feet the way its pictured would get in the way or not....hmm!

Bueller, bueller?

If one were to strip the interior, there is a ton of "metal" spots to mount one, howver with all the carpet and plastic, it's doubtful it seems.
