NJ Thunderbolt DE experience!!!
NJ Thunderbolt DE experience!!!
It was my first time on this track and i really liked it.. It was a PCA DE and there were too many restrictions but i managed to get a few nice sessions. Best time i did was 1.34.500
my friends made some vidoes and i will try to post them later. I was happy with the car and the set up i had. there are still a few things which i will have to adjust cos i was experiencing some minimal understeer but overall it was a nice driving experience.. +1 for the new track.
Car is an MR evo 9 with a shep 5speed , excedy twin disc clutch, bushur stage 3 head, ported manifolds and hotside, injectors, intercooler, CBRD Radiator "huge drop in coolant temperature since the last de with the stock rad"
, CBDR custom tune "thanks Chad", ohlin single adjustable shocks , rear sway, under braces and i had nitto NTO1 255/40/17 on 5 zigen wheels.
brake pads were ferrodo 2500 with cool blue fluid ,dba rotors and stainless lines.
And Porsche guys made jokes at first and at the end of the first day all guys from my group and other were admiring the 4 cylinder turbo
there was this one moment where a gt2 was trying to get away but i was all over his a** on the turns and he was waiting for the straight so he could pull away but this did not work either
on the next lap he got blue flagged and he had to give a point by .

I really like running PCA events as the ones round here are well organized and fairly priced. With that said I have seen more than a bit of snobbery at their events. Overall however good stuff.
Congrats on your first day out. Hope it is the first of many for you.

Very nice time. Glad you had fun, I've been there in Sept. Great track, loved it. I ran 1:39.8, I was running in street class though with street tires and other restrictions. I did come in 2nd. 1st place ran 1:39.1
george will be one of our TA car's we support next year...
our enthusiastic track clients get us amped up... and that means lots of head scratching and wrench turning.. and quicker laps

thanks guys. I guess the DE's help when it comes down to driving skills... I still have a lot to learn but the car has got a lot of potential.. I make mistakes some times and i am aware of them and still manage to get good lap times . It has a lot to do with the cars potential i guess.. We will see next year when there is some real competition..
and some experienced people (CBRD) to help with the set up of the car... Its gonna be fun.
