BFG g-force R1 R comps
the bfgs dont need the same amout of camber as the hoosiers a6 or r6. The sidewall is stiffer on the bfg, you can get away with a lil less camber. There rear completely depends on driving style, track, and what rear diff your running.
general alignment we use, full aero, 265 r1's, tre rear diff..
3.2 camber... 1/16 slight toe out up front
1.7 camber ... 0 toe in the rear

I race on 255/40 BFGs on my stock size rims with no issues. I also found that the BFGs are basically as fast as Hoosier Rs but they seemed to drop off a bit more than the Hoosiers. Also, when the Hoosiers get hot you can take it easy for a lap or two and they come back pretty strong, the BFGs not so much. But for track days, Id go with the BFGs since they easily outlast the Hoosiers.

Hankook didn't renew their contingency with NASA, so I'm up in the air on tires for TT. Considering the Hankook Z214, Hoosier R6 and now the BFG R1.
The Z214 and R1 are roughly the same price. The R6 is about $20 more; $80 total.

You can say what you like about "they measure...", but only the tire company can tell you what wheel width they should work on, as sidewall construction has as much to do with this as tire width.
My $0.02 on all of this:
- I'm a huge fan of the Hoosiers, but the data I've seen shows that the BFGR1's are both faster and last longer. Set-up is everything here, and this is based on same car optimized for the rubber it's running on.
- There's an issue of size here -- the Hoosiers aren't available in the same sizes as the BFGs on 18" wheels. I'm looking at running in a class where I'll need the extra grip of a semi-slick over the R888, and only the BFG comes in the size I want to run (265/35-18).
All that said, tires are like religion. Facts are only a small part of the conversation.

I've been reading the reviews for the R1 on TireRack. Everything is sounding positive. Several noted they were fasted and will last longer than similar competition like the V710, R6 and Z214.
Being there's no contingency sponsor yet for NASA TT this year, these are definitely on my list of possibilities.

Figured I'd bring this one back..... Just got done with a pretty intense high speed lapping day and all I can say about the R1s holy fricken grip!!! These tires just plain stick. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
EDIT: Just got back from an autox .... didn't drive my best but still pulled off a first place in BSP and third place over all. Good tires.

That way we have a frame of reference.
The BFG R1 works great and here's some proof from my results this year. Hankooks are very nice but go wide if you use them they do seem to be 1/2 an inch thinner then my BFG's at the same 245/40/18 size I use.
1st at EMRAracing.org at all the events I have attended this year and I also placed FTD at the North New Jesey SCCA TT back in March at NJMP Lightning. Results are here http://www.emraracing.org/RESULTS/re...rame_setup.htm and http://www.nescca.com/nescca_main/timetrials.html

Back to life! I just bought the R1's and am looking for some insight from you guys on pressures - I'll be at WGI in a week.
On NT-01's I run f33/r36 cold for optimized handling. What would I run, based on these figures with the R1's?
Thanks
