I think Tim and I will be at the track daze event as well.. ( for 18 bora) A specific time between R comps vs non R comps is a really tricky matter..lap times in general are so dependant on so many other things..ambeint temp..track temp..track surface..blah,blah,blah, and tires..all tires, R comp or not, all seem to have different UTOG standards even though there is supposed to be a "universal" standard that applies to all..my R1R's FEEL much softer when you stick your finger nail in them than the C50 R compound..but the R1R is a 140 wear rating and the R comp 40 wear rating. But can always run a lap at least 2 sec. quicker on the R-comps..but I am used to the difference..I have seen people do slower laps the first time out with R-comps until they figure out how different they are in handling. So I would really say it is down to the driver on the difference between tires and lap times with all the host of other requirements being equal. Pete

I agree, and think that braking hard is a must. It takes some time to get used to it. After being the passenger with drivers that know what they are doing it becomes VERY obvious.

Pete I still have that coupon you gave me @ shenandoah last year. I'm going to signup for a TT with EMRA this year and see what all the fuss is about, hopefully I can have you or Tim as an instructor.

I will find out if the current EMRA powers will still honor that coupon? You will find that EMRA is always alot of fun to run with and the amount of track time for the money is VERY good. And I'm sure Tim and I both could run you around if you wanted...but it will be really fun for us all to chase each other...pick a fun track!!! Pete

It looks like there is a new program for 09..they have upped their ante..A first timer is worth $100. entry fee discount now..A EMRA member who brings in a new person will split the $100-so a $50. discount for each. I am trying to find out exactly how/when to get this discount applied and if the "member" can apply his $50. back to the newbie's entry fee!! You will know when I do. Pete
