SCCA Solo Classing help!!!
I was at the first event this year in St. Louis (first autocross ever for me), they put me in the STU class but I was told by a few people that I should be in a different class. I tried figuring it out through the rule book but alot of it is confusing since I am new to solo. Figured you guys would be the best to help me out...
2005 Mitsubishi Evo VIII
Engine/performance:
-3 inch turbo back exhaust- No Cat, No muffler
-ETS Upper Intercooler Pipe and Intake
-Walbro Fuel pump
-EVO IX DV
-Custom tune
-Manual Boost controller set to 23psi
-Act HDSS clutch and flywheel, SS clutch line
-Battery relocated to trunk but its a sealed optima
-Shifter bushings
Suspension/brakes/wheels:
-17x9.5 Enkei NT03+m wheels
-255/40 Falken crap tires lol
-Tein Flex coilovers
-Cusco trunk bar
-Hawk HP+ Pads
-Stoptech slotted front rotors
-SS brake lines with ATE blue fluid
-Fenders rolled
Exterior:
-JDM Evo VII Rear bumper
-Removed rear crash beam
-Front skidplate/light bar aka Cone Eater
-Evo VII Tails
I know most of this info yall didnt need to know about but figured I would get it all listed too make sure I get placed into the correct class. Not worried much about placing at any event, just want to go out there and have fun.
Thanks for the help

So if I were to keep the rear bumper and no crash bar that class wouldnt work if someone called me out on it? Someone on another forum suggested I may be in FP.
Im just trying to figure this out for my next event. Thanks for helping!
BSP = B Street Prepared.
You're not legal for BSP due to the rear bumper and crash beam.
I think those put you in SM
The Evo goes AS -> STU -> BSP -> SM -> FP
The issue is in AS, BSP, SM and FP you can run some sort of slick and you will ALWAYS be overmatched if you're on street tires.
Is there a Street Tire class that is PAX indexed in your local area? Or maybe a novice PAX class?

Not really too worried about being overmatched this year. Just looking to have fun gain experience rather then placing. Maybe next year or late this year if I feel comfortable with how the car is now then Ill throw some r comps on it and see how I stand against the big boys.
