This looks really nice, it would be a world class facility for sure, I sure hope they actually build it. As for elevation it will be in CO. not too far from the rockies so I doubt there will be a shortage of that. Very cool!

I'm too lazy to go through the PDF but I was wondering....To really be like the ring it would need to be a public facility with a toll on type deal. Yes, The ring is more than that but IMO one of the coolest part about the ring is anyone on anything can show up and beast around the green hell.

Yes, but we don't even have an autobahn. This would be like asking for free tests at a private hospital

It's a cool idea, and looks like a nice facility; but it'll never be the Nordschleife.
There's more to that track then just replicating a few turns.

Yeah zbomb it'd be great to see it open to the public; but with how tightly controled stuff is here and how quick everyone is to sue eachother, it'd never happen.

No, it's yet another high priced private/exclusive "club" centered around a track. Exotics/supercars for rent, runway to land your private jet for an afternoon track session, that sort of thing. Not a new idea.

Ring of the Rockies sounds great, but I have my doubts it will be built, a new track was just recently built in Colorado, called High Plains Raceway, from the video I've watched it has elevation changes. It's right down the road from this planned road course 'resort' ? High Plains had a hard time getting to where it is now...

Though it pains me to do so, I am going to have to agree with WSB

The ring is a high speed road following the flow of the land with three towns in the middle. Public Sundays allow anyone to buy a toll ticket and drive one lap at a time. I was able to drive on a Sunday and then Monday and Tuesday with a English club. Monday we had the full track (over 20 miles) and Tuesday just the old North Course. This proposed track is a typical technical race track. straights linked by corners with braking zones. The old North Course in Germany can be driven mostly in 4th 5th and 6th gear with very little hard braking. Fly to Frankfort Sunday morning, pick up the fastest rental car available and drive on the Autobahn at 160mph (legally) and then drive the ring were you will be lucky to break 140mph. then 160 back to drop the rental car off and head home to those 65mph speed limits! Save a bit instead of flying to Colorado and paying for a membership.

haha, as long as there's more then 20 feet of runoff it'll be safer.

Seriously, if you go off at The Ring, the cost or repairing the armco can be more then the cost of the car.

Guys, this has been around for over 2 years, and its been "green lit" for that entire time. I greatly doubt it will happen, we have such a hard time keeping old tracks around, and getting new ones built out here...

A track called Alpine Signature in PA. has been looking for members for several years. It would be a great track with big elevation changes that regular clubs would be able to rent. I talked to one racer who had a payment years ago and finally asked for it back. I recently talked to another racer who had a payment on a membership and said the state DEP had just granted the permits and the environmental groups were challenging it.
