Anyone ever been to VIR?

I want to get one more track day before the end of the year and saw that there is a group running at Virginia International Raceway in October. They are running the whole track. I am debating on wether or not to go since its about a 9 hour drive from where I am. Anyone have any experiences at this track?

Yes, it's awesome. It is an 8 hr drive for me, but I race there twice a year.

VIR is fantastic. It challenges you in many ways and is a real adrenaline rush when you get things right. If you like mucho speeds, if you like lots of technical sections, and if you like crazy flying uphill esses then it's definitely for you! A two-day event is definitely the way to go. I do a 9-10 road trip each year to run there with mazdadrivers.

Seriously, this isn't even open for debate.

If you're referring to the NASA Mid-Atlantic event on Oct 10-11 you better come! You'll have a blast and I promise. As if regular NASA weekends at VIR weren't already awesome enough, that weekend will be OctoberFAST.

The instructors are fantastic and if Dan Unkefer is teaching the in-class material you'll be golden. He has such an amazing skill at presenting material. You'll learn a ton and have great time.

I'm one of those fantastic instructors! :-) I'll be there! Can't wait! See ya there Justin. (I won't try to get into your TT world just yet. Found out I corded one of my 888s. ...Gonna run street tires in the rear for this one. lol let's see how that goes. I could use more drift through T5 anyways.)

In case you haven't picked up on it - VIR is worth _____________ <--whatever is holding you back.
