whats up Chaps...

Well I guess you can consider it a successful weekend. I managed to survive the 100+ degree weather, drive back from Pahrump in my Evo and place on the podium. Not to shabby considering my competition consisted of Robi from RobiSpec driving his STi taking 1st, a local attendee of Spring Mt. taking 2nd and me trailing behind them in 3rd. Let alone all the carnage witnessed on other car due to the extreme conditions.
I was totally shocked on my performance due to the fact that it was my first time driving at Spring Mt. and some of the local Vegas AWD folks came equipped to protect their home turf. The course ran at Spring Mountain Motorsports Park was the 3.1 mile configuration. The layout consisted of 18 turns and a very tricky layout, as most of the turns were late apex turns making it a difficult challenge for newcomers to judge entry speed and turn-in points.
I have to truly give it to Alfred at Tuning Technologies for a superb tune on my car, as temps reached well into the 260+ margin in the water temp department and oil temps were skyrocketing as well. The heat produced from the forced induction and the ambient temperatures dont make it any easier on the car. Which makes it a true test to any tuners reliability. The car stayed alive all weekend long running on the 91 octane map. I wasn't able to run my 100 octane map due to difficulties with my stock BOV, DV and a bad selection of race gas on my part.
Aby and Erik at Mil.Spec for putting out great ported parts and the highest flowing cat out there...!
Robert "Robi" Fuller from RobiSpec for the unsurpassed car handling abilities. Funny thing is, I had the car set-up before the Redline Time Attack series started and have not changed a thing. Goes to show that you can set it and forget it.
Thanks...

Robi CHEESIN! Nice job Matt, grats on the podium! Thomas is insanely fast, I let him drive my car at SMMP once and was pretty embarassed, I had to push pretty hard to beat his time in my own ride lol. The kid just flat out has talent, we need to get him in a faster car though. I wish I could have made it but the combination of blown shock and being in Reno didnt mix too well
You guys ran that config FAST! Thats my favorite one, the 3.5 is just a bit of slow section added in.
Congrats to everyone on a fun weekend!

The course lay out is super fun with every turn being a late apex, so watch your entry speed and turn-in points. And its super smooth, a luxury that most southern California tracks dont have...
