Installed = Evo X intercooler + piping!

So yesterday i got a rediculous deal on an evo x intercooler with 2000kms on it, with the upper and lower ic piping, which is nicer and larger diameter then our stock stuff.

Its all installed, the only thing you have to do is replace the recirc tube with a new longer one to make it all work.. 10$ at a parts store and your good to go.

pics.

the flash wouldnt turn off so they are soso

You Can see its much taller in this picture

Just some glamours for fun!

Car looks very nice. I'm actually torn between AS and WW. I have never owned a silver car before hence leaning towards silver. However, when it is cloudy, the car blends in with the sky and not many people would notice me. (previous experience, long story).

Like they say, the grass is greener on the other side....with the Texas heat, your grass is definitely greener.

Our grass is green 8 and maybe 9 months out of the year. Your's still looks more healthy. During the summer heat and colder winters, our's turn brown. yuck!

there is a small difference at this point. Once its retuned for the intercooler is when you will see the increase forsure, and thats next week.

It really comes down to being a safety issue, they can push the engine harder with a larger better flowing setup with less risk of detonation.

i believe so, you just need to buy aftermarket RA specific Upper IC piping. someone bought a ETS intercooler for an Evo X and bought UR's Ralliart IC piping and everything worked just fine. i believe the RA specific intercoolers are really just the same thing as the Evo X but with different IC piping.

aslong as the aftermarket IC for the X uses the same IC inlet and outlet position as stock you should be able to.. i think T1R wrote something about this in their thread..

so would a AMS FMIC fit with all the inter-cooler pipe because they use a direct factory replacement. from AMS website:
"The AMS Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Front Mount Intercooler is a direct bolt on utilizing your stock piping and mounting points with purpose built cast end tanks for the Evolution 10. This intercooler has over 80% more internal flow area than its stock counterpart. Our stock Evolution 10 gained 10 Wheel horsepower over the stock core just by bolting it on, without even re-tuning the ECU!

We tested many intercooler cores before finding the best performing core available. The bar and plate style core is 12.4" tall, 20" wide and 3.5" thick flowing 1250 cfm. The same durable, race proven intercooler core we used on our record setting Time Attack EVO, proven efficient to 650 whp"

sounds like if they are using the stock piping for the evo x then it should work just fine if you get RA specific aftermarket upper IC piping.

Yes it fits, all you'd need is a 2.5" coupler

to the OP, sweet stuff! I got mine free of charge hehe had to install it, although I used AMS pipes; you should try getting one and swapping that ugly stock pipe
