I think he's refering to the HKS preped SCCA Open class ProRally Evo 8. Anyways, I've got a good look under the hood of one when they were at Maine a couple month back. They are running a Custom HKS turbo setup, Intake is a custom HKS box with Evo 7 style intake (Intake hole on the hood) Battery is relocated to the back of the co driver. Intercooler looks stock but IC piping are all hard piping and they are using a 1G DSM blow off value, with that setup, its not hard to achive 400HP.

Evo's are not classified in SCCA Club Racing as no Turbos are allowed.

They are classified in SCCA Rally. Remember, SCCA does alot more than just club racing and autox.

nope. They have unibodies....just like our Evo's except they strengthen it with a roll cage, seam welds, and the addition of heavier gauge metal in some places.

The basic specs are available at the Mitsubishi Motors and Vermont SportsCar sites.

I don't think there's really one person that could provide you with all the information on mods you're looking for, given that the cars were built by MEM, and I think the motors were built at HKS UK, though I'd have to ask Phil to be sure.

Suffice to say that there are not too many parts on the cars that are shared with the road car. On the interior, the glass appears to be original, and so do the side dash-vents and defrost vents. I think that's it. Some of the suspension and driveline pieces are close to the production car, but the majority is different. The motor, transmission, diffs, dampers, springs etc are different again. If you're looking for general information, I'll try to help, but if you want to know about the particular diff maps we use, I probably won't know.

If you really want to know, you could just _buy_ either of the cars, and have a look yourself. They're both for sale, advert in the current Autosport. Let me know if you buy #6.

Evos are now classified in T-1 for road racing by the SCCA, per Grassrooots Motorsports magazine. That means they will run with ZO6's & Vipers.

I have done track days with those cars and the Evo, as nice as it is, is no match. The classification seems to be baed on the reasonable assumption that Evos owners will cheat, just like the other car owners do. But, since the Evo offers so much more potential performance gain to cheaters, they just lumped them in with cars that, with cheating, they are competitive with.
