ICE RACING for sure this year! Greg do you do these events???

No EVO up there for me, but my saab will make a showing!

And to the new evo owner, I live in Geneva and grew up in St. Charles I go to as many events as i can afford through out the year!!

Do these events? Hell yes. I don't think a lowered track prepped EVO with a splitter would like the ice too much. The Saab should do well, if you really want to have some fun set up some studded tires.

Dave Parts does 3. http://www.w-a-g.org/

Tom Hille did like 7 last winter. http://fvscc.com/ice_racing.php

Tell me more about this ice racing. Is it worth showing if I just have regular winter tires? Are there big snow banks I could crash into or is it like an autocross on snow?

I ave yet to do it but from what I know, there is three classes... street tires, winter tires, and studded tires...

And you race on a frozen lake! recipe for fun!!!

...then number and location of drive wheels (AWD, FWD, RWD) then rubber or spike are the classes. Run what you brung you'll have a blast. There are some snow banks but it's soft stuff and not too likely to damage your car but I wouldn't run a splitter and a lowered car.

For more seasonal stuff, there's a windy city BMW club that you'd enjoy going to . Beat the snot out of some nifty M3's all day :-) THey are Evo friendly, they think the Evo is cool. Makes you feel good too doing it. Knowing the Evo cost a lot less than their cars, new and track readied both.

Also, you can check out www.motorsportreg.com/

Thats how the STLBMWCCA club setups their events in Madison IL.

Been to Putnum Pk? Heard it was cool....
