Pikes Peak Evo, 2010 Edition
Dave,
Wish you the best for the race! Hope all goes well. Sorry to hear about all the drama leading up to the green flag.
My friends and I know just what you are going through. We have been learning over time that the more you modify your EVO (the more you push it away from what Mitsubishi painstakingly engineered) the more little gremlins start to pop up. Headgaskets giving up, rod bolts giving up, mysterious coolant leaks, leaking oil lines, boost control solenoids giving out, wheel bearings going on an 8K mile car, bolts backing out due to vibration. And it ALL seems to happen the week right before a big race. . .
Once you get her squared away - get out there and kick some butt and set some records!

BTW - how do you like the DHP dual element wing? Can you tell a difference from the old single element unit? David is finishing up my new wing/trunk lid/mount setup
Hopefully it will be ready and on the car by the end of July. . .

Work done! Martin from AMS and the crew at Tobz performance tore into the car last night. I picked up Eric at the airport at 11pm and the crew worked throughout the night and the car fired up around 10am with my stock motor.
Just finished up the tuning, left it at a very conservative 25psi. I really want to see the summit on race day!

I wish the best for all the evolution drivers, but Jeff Denmeade is the man! He is a Australian tarmac rally champion who placed 2cd overall (years ago) at the Mt. Washington hill climb in a Ralliart built competition Evolution 5 RS. His USA Evo 8 is down on hp but he has his trusted navigator Catherine to help him keep his foot planted on the accelerator! This is his life's dream to run Pikes Peak. Best wishes for all to drive their Evolution's up the hill tomorrow.

Trying to get some images from last night's fan fest uploaded, and a few from the top of the Peak I took yesterday, but the internetz in the hotel is pretty slow. I'll post a link if it ever finishes. (Man, this is the first batch too, the second batch has about 3x as many pics.)
