At least he knows he is going to get worked the first year or two. Finally, some US representation in WRC!

I'm not getting excited. He will not create TV media coverage in the US, it takes more than just a guy who can barely string sentences together, and drift on youtube. Pat Richard tried the WRC in group N, and he was FAST, for the US. He got destroyed in the Group N WRC.

Agreed, no offense to Block but NA has produced better drivers that couldn't cut it in the WRC. Richard is arguably a bigger name in rally yet he wasn't able to stay as a true competitor in WRC http://www.rocketrally.com/website/i...tent&task=view. Block may increase exposure but people said the same about american rallying yet I haven't seen any rally coverage on Speed or other sports channels. It seems like the only time I see or hear about Block is during the X-Games.
Edit: The more I think about it, the more this seems like a publicity stunt for Ford.

There are other gentleman racers that run in the WRC, and my guess is he'll be trading positions with those guys, not the hired guns who duke it out for the points paying spots.

I'm just excited that Discovery HD is carrying WRC coverage, I've been catching up on the 2009 season.
