Australia's Bathurst 12 hour race will see 11 Mitsubishi Evolution's racing in a 47 car field. 6 Evo X's, 3 Evo IX's and 2 Evo VIII will race 12hours on Mount Panorama. Last year the race was won by the Ralliart team Australia Evolution X driven by Damien White and Rod Salmon. The race is on February 14.
The race is for showroom stock cars in several classes. The Evo X is the fastest machine in the field. There are several great in car video,s from the passed races. Bathurst is one of the worlds bravest road race circuits traveling up over and down the mountain with incredible elevation changes and no room for safety!
A friend of mine in Australia was planning on competing with a U.S.A. left hand drive Evo 8 and asked me to join the team. It did not materialize so I can only hope we see similar gathering of Evolutions racing together here in North American one day.
