Marcus Gronholm Testing Mini WRC Car Video

So much win in this video. Gronholm is our favorite driver because he goes ***** out. Hopefully he will be back in the WRC once the Prodrive Mini program gets underway next season.

It'll be nice to have a little more variety in the WRC, the two horse race gets a little old. Besides, I like the fact that a car that is raced with AWD and a turbo is actually available from the dealership with AWD and turbo!

Several manufacturers are looking to jump back in after the rule change in 2012 as well. I've heard Subaru, VW, Toyota and a few other names mentioned this year.

Good, should help the popularity of the WRC a bit. I wish Mitsu would build a Colt WRC to compete with the Fiesta.

These cars are probably all built using the S2000 or WRC homologation, which means the only thing "Mini" left is the basic unibody.

I believe they will have an AWD countryman model on sale to the public but that's probably the only other similarity between the road going version and the WRC car.

i think the WRC planning to change a major things on the WRC cars...
So i dont know this is a good year to get involved , i mean 2011.

But sure they need to stir things up. Now its dead obvious the way they working the past decade. No one likes the Citroen - Ford only battle too much . Unless they own one , which is impossible because both car is un existent in the real life... Which is totally against the idea of rallying... LOL

sorry , i cant hold it.

Bring back the old time, 1996-2001 were the best.
Evo 5-6-7 WRC look like just the production car, nothing to crazy and still perform like it should.

Aren't the rule suppose to have a production car to be able to participate in WRC?
Citroen and Ford have no AWD platform...

so you getting to see the light...

There is a homologation rule for rally which mean you have to sell at least 2500 car per year from that car you would like to race. Then FIA changed things around and twitsted so the French and Uk cars can actually be on the podium somehow...

Manufacturers starts dropping out etc. BOOOO

anyway, nice to see the Mini comes back ,even if its a subaru genes in it. And today really nothing has to do with the original mini manufacturer. LOL

But still makes me really happy to see them on the stage. Hope fully they will find a way to the IRC too .

I say bring the old rules back and only homologated cars can run the rally events
.
Because today you are looking WRC race cars in the first 10 place at least, they do NOT exists on the street. SO basically phantom cars, which is not the idea of rallying. For that there is many race is already , like F1 - Le mans - BAJA - etc
WRC FIA should not play with the old and original idea of Rally Racing.
