Street Tire Class Compliance

Well I want to put my Evo into competition, so going over the rules for Red Line Time Attack, I feel my car would be best suited for Street tire class, as I might be able to be a little more competitive compared to modified class. However this class forces you to run a catalytic converter. So I have been weighing my options and trying to figure out where I would want to install one and how I want to do it. I know what your thinking, just remove the cat delete and put a 100 cell cat in its place. Well, my DP eliminates the cat, so I either have to cut up my DP or Cat back to install it. I also found out that putting it farthest back possible helps with hp loss. So we considered, cutting off the muffler can installing Vband clamps and have the ability to switch back and forth from 100 cell cat to muffler(straight through).

Until I was forwarded this http://www.lsxtv.com/features/pri-co...ents-cat-back/

Anybody already a step ahead of me? Or have other suggestions?

Doesn't really matter where you put a 100 cell cat, they barely rob any horsepower. But yeah, putting it farthest back is a good idea, and practical.

You know Redline is staying on the left coast for 2011 right?

F*** Me!!! Ok well I am going to go pick out a NASA TT class then. Last time I looked I think I would fall into TTS and would not have to run a cat.

What kind of setup do you have? TTS is an expensive class to try to be competitive in.

Biggest limits of the Street Tire Class in RTA: Must run Cat, No External WG Dump tubes, 140+ treadwear rated tires, Max 255mm wide tires on AWD cars, No active Aero, Interior must be kept from the front seats forward, no Lexan windows, limited body panel replacements allowed, and no pro drivers. There are more rules but you have to read over them carefully when prepping your car to see what might effect you. Indeed they are only running the west coast events for 2011 and will resume east coast in 2012 after the new format changes have a chance to get more established.

Since NASA is sponsoring One Lap this year I'll probably at least run some HPDE events with them as well for tracks within 8-10 hrs drive of Rochester, NY or Las Vegas, NV.

my HP/Weight ratio put me in TTS, even if I calculate the weight on the high side I am well below 8.7:1 min for TTA.

I know I can't be competitive in TTS, too many high hp cars with wayyyy too much $$ in them, but I can still have fun.

My Mod list is somewhat extensive and I don't feel like typing it out, so if you want to see it PM me your email.

I got Direzza's in a 255, rerouted my WG dump back into the exhaust and was looking to buy a cat, and then they stay on West Coast.

Great, like they don't have enough money in the cars.
