Buschur Racing engine completes SECOND 24 hour race.

I want to give a huge congrats to the rbanksracing.com team for completing their SECOND 24 hour of Lemons race with the "Talonator".

In 2010 I was approached to help out the team by building an engine for their 1990 Eagle Talon TSi. This is of course a 4g63 turbocharged engine, what we've built our reputation on for the last 22 years.

They won their first 24 hour of Lemons race at Nelson Ledges by a considerable margin. The engine performed flawlessly.

A few weeks ago in December the team competed again, this time with three cars, at Palm Beach International Raceway.

Of the three cars entered in the 24 hour race the Talonator was the last one of their cars standing and placed 11th.

This is the SECOND complete 24 hour race the Buschur Racing 2 liter has run, no rebuild and no mechanical problems.

The agreement is to run the engine and see just how many 24 hour races it can compete in without touching it. This is already a testament to the fact we build more than drag engines. 48 hours of road racing on the same engine.......

The drivers for the race were:

Robin Banks, also the owner of the team.
Jeff Schupner
Dale Alexander
Joseph Smith
Ray Schneider

There was a ton of help and support from other people and businesses. Thank you to all that were involved and GREAT JOB!!!!

What kind of rebuild can you afford in a Lemons racer? Impressive reliability.

The engine got put together, actually, with used parts from other engines we had taken apart to freshen up and rebuild here. Even more impressive if you ask me!

Impressive for sure, surprising, not so much! Fantastic accomplishment, cannot wait to see how many races that engine has left in it.

Any engine that last 24hrs (let alone twice) is an amazing feat! Curious, how much power in the engine producing?

We did not dyno the car. It's a Lemons car, so put together from used parts and no performance parts are on it. I'd guess on this dyno it might make 150'ish! Stock 14 psi boost levels.
