CL6E Race Pad Review
CL6E Race Pad Review
Well I just tracked my Evo at Portland International Last weekend and I go a chance to try out my new brake pad set up. I used CL6E pads with DBA5000 rotors and AMS Brake Cooler Kit in the front and Ferodo 2500 with stock rotors in the rear. The combination worked perfectly with the tires that I have. I used 255 Falken Azeniths for grip and it worked quite well together. The brakes stopped the car time after time on the front and back straight from speeds of around 140-150 mph without any fading, warping or cracking. I really liked the fact that these pads did not feel like a light switch, you could modulate the brake pedal and control the pressure (Even in the rain). Lastly with this tire setup the brakes were able to overcome the tires but just barely making this an Ideal setup for a lapping day for those who want to use aggressive street tires and are not quite ready for a set of slicks.
How much wear did you have on the pads?
I also like these pads.
I also like these pads.
Regarding comparison, I have had experience with carbotech 8 race pads, and ferodo 2500's street/stock turbo track pad.
Thanks for the feedback DKC. I'm glad the pads are working so well for you!
Would you mind if I put your review up on our CL Review page, along with the pic of your car? Thanks!
Some people are concerned at the initial cost of the RC6E, but they tend to last a very long time. When you look at the $ per mile of pad wear, you usually find out that they're actually cheaper than many other competitive products on the market.

I have put about 100 track miles on them and 1 auto-x and 1000 street miles and they still look brand new.
