The "best" tire for BSP isn't going to be a street tire. The best tire for the quickest times would be an r-comp tire like a Hoosier.

I personally ran faster times running the stock OEM 235's than I did on 255's, but all depends on the track. I like the 255's for large tracks like big willow springs, but like the 235's for short tracks like AutoX.

Now I was running the OEM BBS's on 255's and felt too much sidewall flex with the 255's, but if your running a 9 inch rim than 255's all the way

As for Tires, I ran 3 sets of Direzza Star specs, they are great tires for AutoX, but are HEAVY vs other 255's. Doesnt make much of a difference on an AutoX course but you notice it on the larger courses.

Personally I would lean towards the Direzzas for Auto X and the Yokyomama's Neovas AD08's for "real" tracks. They are more forgiving in the apex's and give warning before they break lose, unlike the Direzzas. On a AutoX coarse its no big deal since speeds are not that fast, but on a big course the Direzzas scare me.

Im out of the game right now, money is tight so the track shoes are off for a while and Im running some S-Drives right now. Great "Street" tire by the way.

Direzzas for short track and Auto X +1
Advan AD08's for High Speed/Larger Tracks IMO

Then your only choice is Hoosier or Kumho. And you'll need to fit a lot wider than 255's. Checkout the BSP prep threads for more info. Have fun!

Flare or roll your fenders and get a set of 18 inch wheels and pick up a set of hoosier A6 tires in a 285/35/18. That's pretty much the most potent set up for an evo 8 in BSP.

i got a set of 17X9 wheels for now and still on lowering spring so cant run wider than 255

can anyone give me insight on the difference between running 255/40/17 vs 245/40/17? the reason i ask is i see there are more choices for r-comps in the 245 size than the 255 size

thanks for the help guys

For autox, wider is better but between those two sizes the difference is likely unnoticeable.

I can tell you what suspension and wheel/tire setups a national champion BSP Evo would run but since it sounds like thats not your objective right now, just buy 4 Hoosier A6s in whatever size you can find and fit and go have fun. They are still a big improvement over street tires even if they are only 245s.

If you want to be somewhat competitive and want race tires, go with either a 245/40 or 275/40 Hoosier A6. The 245 Hoosier is probably as wide as most 255s or even 265s, so you're set.

alright i will look into the 245s. i know hoosier is used by lots of people with great results but is there a huge difference between the 245 hoosiers and 245 hankook C71s?
