Always look at the bright side, it happened at the best possible time - pre season and you didn,t get caught in your own oil and damage the car. Looking forward to the rebuild story and more about your new brake system. I'll be following you later with a post about about my new pro brake system after it's tested.

I cant really tell too much right now , since i drove the car just a little with a new setup. But since i got now a proper or a good base set up springs the car handled amazing! everything just soaked it up. i even did a ditch hook I had too, bad blood...

The brake system i got now /custom pedal box/ is absolutely not matching with my pads. I just got the proper ones from essexparts .

Even then the pedal box is stellar!! The hot spots are not exists anymore on the discs , it is equally blue every where

And the feel is great.
As soon as the car is starts and we have some testing i will let you guys now , what we used and how "we" [ i have nothing to do with it, only my valet LOL] build it. As long as the shop is oke with it.
Also i need a test since the car will be totally different, and i dont want to go to the next race just to learn the car. It will be still learning but at least i will have an aprox brake distance and shifting point LOL

THanks for the interest

Rob

thanks i try
We basically going to build a proper /90% grupe A engine.
And some addition here and there on the car . Inside and outside.
Also the suspension is really getting close too so as the brakes. Now i just need tires, proper ones. Which hope fully will happen also.

Okey... for does whom might care

short block is coming in saturday - arp stuff all around - Manley rods - CE custom pistons - Full engine managment - full ACD managment is on the way from EU - Tuner coming soon from eu too after the engine done - alll oem gaskets - AMS stuff for the head - Walbro fuel pump - custom intake - custom IC set up - custom coolers are in the making etc.

Brakes system will be done with new pads and fluids - i am waiting for quote from essesxparts to get rotors. Also custom brake set up.

The car goes in the shop next week for reinforcments and upgrades on the body.

Wheels -tires coming in around 3 weeks.

Nothing fancy or major- we going for reliability and not peak power. Car will be a close grupe A spec rally car.

We started to rolling . Hope fully the car will be done even with testing before the next race.

Pictures coming soon.

Rob

So Im assuming that your classing is based on hp to weight ratio? Not a points for modifications system?

What's the hp to weight ratio your going for?

its not a hp and weight ratio.
We cant be lower then 3000lb /supposedly or put it this way: never checked before to be honest, since my car at the moment is way over 3400LB so doesnt matter for us. Next year when we will start working on the body then i will know for sure.
The hp is limited by the 34 mm restrictor plate on the turbo, so from there there is no
additional restriction you need really.
The grupe N or production cars are limited to 32 mm in eu 33 since this year.

That is of course AWD - turbo charged cars class.

With the 34 mm restrictor do you think any one could break Frank Sprongal's official record run. Sorry, Travis did not set a official competition record.

Sorry to see that. My #4 went down also, but most of mine made its way through the oil pan. Most of the block is still intact, but it looks like there is a chunk of the lower/front of car portion of the cylinder wall missing. I'll find out more when I pull the head / pan.

Bad news Rob... sorry to hear.

Oddly enough, we blew our motor at the Oregon Trail Rally just this past weekend. I think the 34mm restriction has ALOT to do with it.

New build underway here too. Total Bummer.

BTW... AST has yet to get ahold of us. And we were offering to buy at retail. These guys don't want to sell suspension, I guess. LOL!

Best of luck with the new motor. And to us with ours as well.

Rally On!

Scott

I dont know what to say about AST..

yea rally engines tend to be blowing with that such a small restrictor. Mine is in the making too , check it out here:
