World-Challenge Evo X GTS Car
Never been in a wreck on track before but im sure thats such a helpless feeling, just being along for the ride like that knowing whats about to happen. Glad your ok, all the safety equipment definitely did its
i will comment on the stock block thing. If you do seriuos racing it is cheaper to change the rods and the pistons. Piston is not really important but as soon as you open it up why not?
Dont be me or others. Change those before you will spend more... Specially if you already running high end ecu etc.
Nice car !

Hi All,
First off, good to hear from you Marty. I have plenty of time now to sort out problems. Had a catastrophic brake failure in turn 1 at Long Beach saturday morning. I lost front brake pressure, but fortunately had enough rear pressure to slow the car from 140 mph to 90 mph before hitting the tire wall in the runoff area. Sprained my thumb and wrist, bruised ribs and broke my collar bone. Not sure until we get it back to GMG if it's a re-tub. Feeling pretty sore right now. Not sure yet what went wrong. I had a good pedal through the back side of the track, turned through the hairpin and the pedal went to the floor in turn 1. Multiple pumps, then decide how to crash. Not pointing any fingers, but I am running Motec m800, Bosch Motorsports ABS and Stoptech brakes. By the way, the double crush washers on the plugs solved the piston contact problem. Will be doing a lot of work on the car, and return to the series in August. Thanks for everyones support.
Cheers,

i think the pedal box is a best way to go, so we did. ABS is a MUST go in racing, in my mind.
out of curiosity , do you have an e brake working in the car?

I riicochet a BMW M3 off the uphill wall at Lime Rock that left me with bruised ribs but no neck pain. That was years before club racers could buy a Hans device. Does anyone have knowledge about the door materials that NASCAR uses to cushion side crashes? My ST-2 Evo 8 cage does not have NASCAR door bars but the seat is extremely mounted towards the center off the car.
found this on nascar door stuff....a type of foam used to absorb impacts

Wow, that's some scary **** right there, glad that you're ok. I was really hoping to see this car out here this weekend at Miller. Hopefully this will give you some time to get everything sorted out (and heal of course).
Got up to 141, wrecked at ~84mph it looks like, F***. It's like ok go left, no concrete wall, go right, nope concrete wall, to slight left, nope more concrete, ok these tires look good, no wait they don't, oh sh*t oh sh*t oh sh*t. I wonder if an ebrake would have even helped then in such a narrow situation.

It all happened so fast. I wonder if instead of pumping the brake pedal, I had the presence of mind to jam it into 2nd gear would I have come out of this much better? Never had a brake failure in such a horrible place before. Hindsight sucks.
