I like running with the PCA guys/gals- very little douchbaggery on the track, nice people off the track

thanks for feedback. track is very nice indeed and surprisingly porsche events are much cheaper than all the other clubs, 2 day event with them is like 275.

Thunderbolt is one of my favorite track in the notheast other than watkins glen. PCA runs a very good event, the cheapest around and plenty of track time.

Thanks for sharing. Videos looked and sounded like you were hauling ***. Our lines are pretty damn close everywhere except for the octopus. I'm going to try your line next time out and see how I like it. I'm still fighting understeer something bad in that section...

What are your mods if you don't mind sharing and have you ever timed your laps?

Which PCA region do you run with? I'm an RTR member, but I mostly run with Schattenbaum cause their schedule works better for me. I'm also signed up with grillpt to do a 2-day event with them in April.

yea line is pretty different at some points than what most people do. Best i had on this track was 1.32.2 but i was in white and was passing a few cars almost every lap so i would not call it best but thats timer time. Car was on bbk xl test version around 400 whp, i have moton motorsports on and 355 stoptech brakes on front. built 5 speed custom ration and thats about it. i run 285 advants all around. i am building the block now and i got the rear dif which i think will make a big difference so i am looking forward for the next event.. if car is up and running i will probably do shenandoh on june 5-6. its a nice track.. i like it. hopefully we can do some event together. it would be fun.

that sounds like a beast of a setup, is that on pump or race gas and how much boost are you running? what is the new setup/motor going to be? I'm at low 300 and its a handful on 255 Z1's, I can't imagine the feel of 400whp & 285s, its got to be scary on a couple of those fast turns like 3 & 4. It was hard to tell from the vid but are you flat going out of T12 onto the straight? I still don't have the ***** to stay flat there.

I'm sure we'll link up at the track eventually seeing as we run with the same group. I'm always looking for other EVO's at these things, seems like all I ever see are Porsches, BMW's and Z06s, lol. I'm trying to get back down to shenandoah this year too, I freakin love that track! Previously I've run it with trackdaze but I think PCA has an event down there this year.

yes actually potomac pca has an event on june5-6 and i hoping to sign up if car is ready. it also has skid pad included and its like 260 for the weekend. i will keep u posted if i can make it. as far as the engine i am building a 2.0 cbrd spec motor and a custom turbo. i am hoping it will be somewhere in the 450-500. on the bbk i ran 28-29 psi and it was good power and car has a lot more than what i can handle but i am learning. the data logger says my quickest lap should be 1.29.2 but its never the case. maybe on a time trail i could be quicker but with traffic its hard. i am hoping to get promoted soon to black soon but we will see. turn 1 i used to overbrake but i started adjusting to that, slight lift for 2 & 3, a little brake on 4 and than back on the gas, 5 i take my time cos if i push it will understeer, 6 slight tap on brakes and back on gas, slight brake on 7 and on the gas through 8 ,last turn before the bridge i lift for a sec and than flat on the gas even before the apex with 285 it plants on the pavement feels solid. do u have any video of yours???

thanks for the turn by turn. 1.29 is flying. I only timed myself once there and did a 1:36 but that was with a friends Iphone & Harry's lap timer app and a bunch of traffic, so no telling how accurate it is. I've been meaning to get some sort of data aquisition software/hardware but haven't gotten around to it just yet. I have some videos out there but nothing really worth watching. I know my car/setup has a lot more in it still, I just need to stones to push harder. After watching your vid I know that need to be more aggressive everywhere, lol.

a couple buddies are doing Jefferson/Shenandoah this weekend with RTR. I'm not able to make it there but I'll see what I can do about the May event you mentioned.
