AMS Wilwood light weight front brake kit for Evo X

I have the AMS Wilwood light weight front brake kit listed here:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...brake-kit.html

Perfect for autoX and rallyX. It will alow you with the stock brembos to run 16" wheels and with smaller rear brakes you can run 15" wheels. Lost of unsprung weight reduction too.

I was going to sell it and go with the gravel front kit but I've decided this is best to get my feet wet in rallyX and autoX. I'm in the process of getting it on the car along with a custom rear wilwood kit so I can run 15" x 7" team dynamics prorace 1.2s and hanook rally tires.

My skid plate and harnesses should arrive this week too so I'll be busy readying the car for my first rallyX on June 26th in Huntsvill Alabama.

No my rear kit is custom made using stock rotors (machined down) and wilwood calipers.

I wonder how the brake bias would be with this setup? Is the AMS kit using larger total area on the caliper pistons to make up for less leverage (smaller diameter rotors)? Especially on a street driven car, you don't want the rears locking up before the fronts.

If you have a none rs trim, then you have an advanced abs system. There for you cant lock up the wheels. If you dont use abs, then you should have installed a bias controller.

I agree the ABS should cover the problem, but the engineer in me says don't rely on an electronic "protection" to resolve a design/engineering error. I'm not in the market for this kit, but was curious if that level of thought was put in by the kit designers.

I guess if you or anyone has the kit installed with stock brakes in the rear they could provide some experimental data. Go jump on the brakes (in a safe environment) and see which end the ABS starts working on first. Or which end locks up if you drive an RS!

I don't have stock rear brakes but I do have 4 pot wilwood rears and this kit up front. I can feel the bias during normal braking but when I stomp on the brakes I can't feel the difference. I think because the ABS is taking over. I hope that helps.
