EVOlutionary's 2011 Recap
Fresh A6's are good for 1 weekend. Run them on day 1, then swap front/rear on day 2. After that they are only good for warm up, practice, or when there is no really stiff competition. I rarely cord them, and just toss them when they get worn down so much that the two grooves are completely gone. . .

^ Hoosier has contingency. you can win up to two tires per day if there are 7 entry in your class. so you can win 4 tires per weekend if there are enough entry in your class.
Robert/RobiSpec told me that the Hankooks are faster by about 1-2 seconds depending on track, but that they require more negative camber than the Hoosiers and thus tweeking on each car to find out the fastest setup. Also, they take a couple laps to come in, then are great for 1-2 laps, then they fall off fast.
Just seems like too expensive to test for me given the great Hoosier contingency prize, and the fact that I normally catch lapped traffic now in just 1-3 hotlaps. . .

I can attest to everything Robert told you. I got a set for free just for testing (mainly autox - even though they're not SM legal), and they take a good 4 runs (2ea w/ codriver) to really come on. Once they do, they're just as fast, if not faster than A6s. I also ran them on track, and I noticed that they fell off after a couple hot laps.
That's interesting considering the Hankook R-S3's seem to like heat and never fall off while being a well balanced compromise between a street tire and track tire. Sounds like based on cost alone I'll stick with these and be fine with slightly slower lap times.
Nice season recap btw, are you doing the 2012 One Lap or taking a break from it this coming year?

Jarrod, we chat too much on facebook lol! I thought I had already responded to your thread!
But congrats again on your success for 2011. I'll be rooting for you again this year! Keep up the good work and stay safe!

That seems to be a common theme, I found out that after sponsor funding would be much slimmer this year my co-driver Sean Caron is unable to attend. Of course there are many other factors making it tough for him to sign up this year but now I'm reviewing options with taking my car and using a new co-driver, or just climbing in Dr. Seto's car once I get done prepping it.
Yeah as much as I hate to say it, I am out for this year. It's going to suck miss this year after the build up over the last two years. I think the head to head between the 4 of us would have been epic times.
