Any one have issues with Driving to and from events (80+ miles) on a R888 or NTO1?

Also what the recommended air pressure for a NT01?

Thanks

I did drive r888's daily and to tracks even between stages. No issue even on high pressue.
Fact when I have no race the car sits and drives around on r888's.

NT01's are the best tires for the money. They provide a lot of feedback and they are not as sensitive to air pressure as other R-comp tires.

The r888 can also be non-directional in the dry. They are only directional if you need the rain water evacuation. I verified this with Toyo and run them backwards to even out tire wear when needed.

I'm again shopping for tires and I'm leaning towards the nt01 simply because they don't seem to heat cycle out like other r comp tires I've tried....
Bfg r1
Hoosier r6
Hoosier koni slicks

What id REALLY like to know is how much better the nt01 is over the newer street tires like the RS3. Some claim the old compound rcomps aren't even as good.

I came from Star-Specs to NT01's. Noticable difference but not earth shattering or anything. I've corded the NT01's well before heat cycling them out. Cornering was better in terms of grip, but I think the star-spec might actually have a little stiffer sidewall. The NT01 is faster through corners but has a looser feel. Braking, no comparison. The difference there was huge. I was running Carbo XP12's and when I went to the NT01's it became difficult (as in very high pedal pressure) to approach ABS, whereas it was much easier to approach threshold on the star-specs. I was able to really compress some braking zones, and brake wear increased along the same path....

Hoosier R6's are another incrmental step better than NT01's. I actually think they wear at least as good as the Nitto's, but offer more grip all around. IMHO, the NT01's were a great 'bridge' tire between the star-specs and Hoosiers.

Now the A6......

It does deppends on the set up tire size you have. But this would be a nice weekend warrior and dd set up for the evo X. Also I always started around 38 and above psi.

Can any one tell me what tire pressure Ishould run NT01's at. This is my first set of good tires for my Evo. I have run NT05's and some old star specs.

Mine is close. I have more camber up front, but the rest is almost identical. I have been starting off with about 30-32psi cold which hit into low 40's hot. The tire seems ok to me at that pressure but nothing special.

Although like you mentioned, the middle is wearing faster than the edges so I was trying to get the pressure as low as I could before rolling into the sidewall. I'll try to pump them up next to see what happens which is very contradictory to what one would normally want to do.

This is a more street friendly set up the n all out track. So if you do weekend race 6-7 time a year, this alignment will serve you well. But still you will eat up tires faster then a stock set up. The other hand, will handle much better with the r888's and similar tires.

I targeted 38 hot. How much pressure you will gain depends on track, ambient and how hard you drive. I would start my fronts at 28-29, rears at 32 and end up real close to 38 all around.
