Help find right brake pad for the track

hi guys, so my PF01's have finally worn out so i'm in the market for new pads front/rear. i'm running Hoosier R6s so i'd like to find a pad that would allow me to take advantage of the extra grip i have from those tires.

i've been eyeballing some CL RC6, but a friend of mine is telling me to try out some Pagid brake pads. has anybody ran the Pagid pads before?

also, i'm open to any recommendations that you guys might have, so let me know what you track ****** have tried out and what would be the best pads for R6s i'm running

Ive been running Raybestos ST43 pads for about 4yrs. Ive used them for test days, NASA TT, but mostly for club racing. I started using them in 2008 when i used to run in TT. I liked them so when i started club racing in 2009 i stuck with them. I buy them from Martin at Girodisc. Although, im sure if you ask enough people youll get a couple more recommendations, as there are a couple other good ones. So pick your poison and good luck.

Look into Carbotech, they have wonderful racing pads and plenty of different levels of aggressiveness.

I'm running hawk DTC 60's, no complaints here, I may try the 70 next time around though. On my race car I run cobalt friction XR-2's, but its a miata, not an evo.

Search for the other brake thread, there's literally dozens of them with 100+ posts on the topic. Pagid is very popular in various clubs especially PCA.

Yup, one of my buddies with a 2012 Cayman R uses Pagid pads and loves them. I use Hawk DTC60s.

I've ran both Pagid’s and RC6’s before, the RC6’s have a little more bite (somewhat too aggressive) up top where the Pagids are more linear with decent bite. Most recently, I’ve tried the Ferodo 1.11; while the top end bite is nowhere near the RC6’s, they lasted me twice as long. You can’t go wrong with the ST43/47 either, similar bite to the Pagids and cheaper. LPI Racing is a good Pagid-ST43/47 source and MAP is a good Ferodo source.

It all comes down to your preference, driving style and what you are willing to compromise. Personally, for HPDE’s and just lapping around, I’d rather a pad that will last; for time TT/TA and deep braking, aggressive pads like the RC6/RC8 might give you a "little" advantage.

thanks for all the wonderful information guys and keep it coming i forgot to mention this in my original post but what pad would work best in the rear? i would hate to get something too aggressive and not be able to heat them up so they reach proper operating temperatures

I've run carbotech xp12 and found they wear out about 3x quicker than the newer and better ST43. Last year I moved to the ST47 which has more bite than the 43.... almost too much for my heavy foot. I will be going back to the ST43 this year. They seem to last a long time, stop the car well and not break the bank in the process.

I have been running ST47F/43R. The 47s have great bite but can wear sooner. I got about 12 HPDEs or 50+ 20-25 min sessions which isn't too bad actually. I'm trying a set of Cobalt Friction in the front now and they seem to work good as well once they are bedded.

I plan to try a set of ST43 for the front and compare bite vs life. If they are consistent as reported, they are probably the best compromise for HPDE.

For those who wonder why I stagger the pad material F-R, The RS doesn't have ABS so I tend to stagger pads to give me a little more front brake bias. I'm going to experiment with running balanced sets now and as long as I can be quick with braking modulation, I should avoid locking up the rears.

It is wonderful to have all these choices for pads.
