First Track Day! Help Needed!
First Track Day! Help Needed!
Hey Everyone! My neighbor is in the alfa romeo owners club, and invited me to take my lancer to the Blackhawk Farms Raceway and give it a go!
My car is a 2004 Lancer OZ Rally
My question is, what do I need to do to track ready my car?
So far what Ive done is: (ALL work is performed by ME)
-All new brakes and rotors
-New transmission bearings
-New exedy clutch kit
-New tie rods
-New front suspension arms/balljoints/sway bar mounts
-Headers
I am not sure of what oil I should use, should i go with a heavier weight for track days?
Also, if anyone has any other tips feel free to chime in!
Im basically looking to do the least amount of damage to it while im driving it. haha

I know it wont be the fastest thing out there, its not boosted,
the engine isnt built, I just want to go drive on a track and see what my car can do.
Thanks for all your help guys! This is an awesome forum!
AND yes i do have a helmet.

Yeah, everything engine wise is stock.
Im planning on using Michelin hydro edge's on the stock rims.
haha I was joking about the powder coating. Should probably take that off of there :P
Brakes are pretty much just OEM stock. Just brand new. Im ashamed to say it but they are the dura lasts from autozone.
I figured I could burn through those and just replace them afterwards.
Fluid was something I definitely need help on, I have the stock stuff in there right now.
Thanks for the quick response!
EDIT:
Is this something good to do?
Technical Inspection Form
-One more question, would it be wise to invest in a water temp, and oil pressure gauge? I feel like it would be safer with those installed... but I dont want it to be ricey
