Oil Cooler Protection Question / Pic

Hey guys. Need a few opinions please

Was at the track this weekend & lost my non track worthy APR front splitter at 145mph First stint

Anyway, back to the track garage, I removed the damaged splitter & noticed the passenger front wheel well liner was in bad shape. I cut the fwd portion of the liner away exposing the oil cooler.
Ran the remaining stints w/out any oil cooler protection. After coming home & inspecting, I noticed some fin damage from tire & track debris

I rigged this poor mans double screen protector using 1/4 mesh X 2 screens

Will this work?

Thanks, Joe

Don't see why not. Why not just buy a new inner fender?

I have a similar "netting" on mine and haven't noticed any fin damage.

I'd say you're good to go.

Doh!

That mesh should work fine as a short term solution.

What track/turn?

Eek, how did you have it mounted? I have an APR front splitter as well, but its frame mounted in like 20 places. It flexes on the front more than I want, so I plan to replace it with alumalite like all the cool kids...but that splitter is NOT coming off the car.

Standard mount w/ the 2 struts. That splitter flexed so much at speed that it tore the mounts. I have pics but will have to upload later. If I had known I would have reinforced it w/more struts & placed a backer behind the strut mount on the front bumper cover. My bad for sure!!
