AutoX in wet/damp and tire choice
AutoX in wet/damp and tire choice
curious where the line is usually drawn for deciding between a "slick" (in my case A6), and a street tire (Hoosier RS3 until they die). My original thought has been if it's even just damp all over the course to run the street tire. I'm starting to think that may be flawed. Is it just for standing water where you need the siping action of a street tire, or is it happening even on a very damp track? is there more to it like how the compound reacts?
The A6's are much larger than the street tire in width, so the contact patch is exacerbated by this in addition to the tread.
thanks for the wisdom.

I only change to street tires if there is standing water. Good A6s need little heat to work compared to V710s. On the kumhos I would switch even if it was damp out cause they're aweful with no heat.
any time its raining hard enough to create standing water, then it is time to change tires. How much standing water you can tolerate depends on how much heat you can get into the tire.
