Interior water damage

I have a 2004 Ralliart with the sun and sound package. Every once in awhile my driver side floor gets wet, mainly the backseat. It usually happens when it rains, however I have no signs of water damage coming from the windows or the sun roof. The roof is always dry and the middle hump in the backseat floor is bone dry. It doesnt rain like crazy where I live, so its not like im driving through huge puddles or anything. I noticed it one day when I parked on a slight hill my car was leaking something. Water was coming out of a small hole under the car, like a hole that existed when the car was made. Has anyone experienced this? I find it hard to believe that water from the tire is kicking up water to that hole or just small puddles is making this. Cause there usually is alot of water, like its soaked and I would say a good 22oz of water. Sometimes im usually not driving the car when it rains and the seats are damp, but I cant figure out where the water is coming from. No sign of water on doors, roof or nothing.

Might not seem logical, but double check the drains on your sunroof, make sure they're clean.

hellview asked the same question in his, "Help!!!!" thread. the water is leaking from under ur hood, by ur front strut bar on the driverside, more up by ur winshield, it will look like a stock weld, but wen water is near it it creates a puddle, there is where ur leak is coming from, take a look at it and let me kno if u find it, best way to go about it is take a water hose, or a bucket of water, pour it on ur windshield, and watch it roll and form.

let me kno if u find it

im sure your carpet is fine from water. just shop vac it and clean it no problem remember it is made with deodorizers in it and all sorts of fun stuff in case such problems happen. if you do not have a shop vac then take it to the car wash and use thers . that will work better anyways and you dont have to clean up exe...

i actually had a water problem with my 04 ralliart a while back. it had rained like crazy where i live and we actually had some flooding and water was about halfway up my wheels luckily not submerging the doors but when i got to my car the whole drivers side front and back was filled about ankle deep with water so i looked under the car and determined that hole under the car was where the water may have come from. idk why that is there it does seem like its from the factory though. and yeah i just shop vac it all out and then shampoo'd and cleaned the carpet. its fine now but that was definitely a scary moment.

just thought i would revive this thread as i have this problem now. see? i do my search like a good boy haha! i'm going to use a car wash vac later on today to clean out the water. it's been like this for a while. i don't remember the last time that my driver-side floor was dry. the weird thing is, it's only my FRONT DRIVER-SIDE that is soaked. i'm getting worried about water damage, rust, etc. forming under my carpet. any ideas on how i can tackle this?

i have read around and found 3 culprits:
1) sunroof drain tubes
2) driver-side strut bar
3) hole under my car? lol...not lol...

i have been inspecting the underside of my RA and it has no rust around the driver-side whatsoever so i'm hoping there's nothing internally wrong with it. it has been WET since day ONE. i don't know why i JUST posted about it now. i feel so bad for my RA right now. she deserves better than this...

please help!

Check the door seal rubber. Make sure is it no cracked. There was mention of a leak getting into the front part of the cabin from the strut. I personally changed my tail lights and did not put the taillight seal back on properly on the passenger side. Water got into my truck and went down the back seat into my passenger side because of that. Might be happening to you just from the driver side. May want to check just in case. The only reason I found out because I had paper on the floor and they got soggy during a raining day.

You may also want to check the roof gutter track, also previously mentioned in this thread. A way to figure this out is to run a hose all other your car. Go section by section and see which section you were soaking under the hose and let water in. Since you cannot spray the hose under the hood because you may damage your engine and such. just spray between the cracked in the door and it should naturally get into there anyways if that is where the leak is.

I hope this is helpful.

I took a look last night and I can't find ANY leaks whatsoever from the rubber seals on the doors/sunroof/under-hood/etc. I think the hole might be under the car. FML. I tried to dry it as much as I could last night. I just hope MOULD doesn't form there...

I NEED TO FIX THIS!!!

I'm getting worried about the damage it's causing to my RA

after reading through a bunch of articles, i'm getting scared of MOULD forming under my carpet. any suggestions on this issue? i'm planning on removing the carpet on my front and rear driver-side. i will be removing my driver seat as well just to be able to get to the bottom of this. going to grab some silicon/sealant to make sure all the seals are tight. also getting a bunch of cleaning ingredients. if anyone is interested, here are the articles i found that might help tackle this problem:

http://www.bowdensown.com.au/mould-control
http://www.naturesinnovation.com/mold_in_automobile.htm
http://www.howtocleanstuff.net/how-t...car-carpeting/

and i'm grabbing this to help me with this process AND it's on sale for ~$50:

http://www.princessauto.com/pal/en/V...cuum/8495376.p

i hope everything goes well and there aren't any RUST or MOULD or ANYTHING SCARY under the carpet when i pull it out...

any advice/suggestions/ideas would be VERY helpful...

thanks a lot!
