Evodynamics 2012 racing recap!
Well 2012 was the best year yet for evodynamics and our awesome race team!
Road race:
The time trial crew was out in full force this year! First event of the year was Motorsport ranch houston in January. We brought 5 cars out between TT and HPDE. Josh Smith and Jim Freker raced in TTA, josh took the Saturday win in his Evo X with a 1:44.5, and jim was a close second with a 1.44.9. There were 8 cars in the class so we had some tight competition. Sunday, josh improved to a 1:42.9 to take the win again along with the track record!
Jim improved his time down to a 1:44.7, but slipped to 4th place on the day as the other cars improved their times as well.

Todd Earsley raced in TTC both day in his Evo 8. On Saturday Todd managed a 1:51.2 for the win as the primary competition, a Wrx, broke in the qualifying session. Sunday Todd manged a third place finish as it was apparent street tires don't compete against Hoosiers. His time improved to a 1:50.3, but was only good for 3rd on the day.

Jeff tan and josh Dunn were running in hpde that day, and both managed to get signed off for time trials by the end of Sunday!

The second race of the season was Motorsport ranch cresson. We had another excellent turnout here, Jim Freker, Josh Dunn, josh smith, and jeff tan all running TTA. Todd Earsley running TTC, and several of the NTEC members running HPDE including larry houck who has been working his way up to TT.

Saturday, josh Dunn managed to reset the track record on the 3.1 mile course with a 2:23.0 which was 3rd fastest of all the TT cars (30+). Jim was a close second with a 2:24.3. Jeff's Evo X MR was still being prepared so jeff managed to lap in 2:31.2 for 4th place.

Sunday, both josh and jim had corded the tires so the ran one session on the slicks before switching out to the street tires. Josh smith also managed to make it out to challenge for the record. Josh smith managed a 2:24.1, which won for the class, but wasn't as quick as JDs time the day before. jim had a hard day as after putting on the street tires, midway through the day his 4 race old Buschur 2.0l motor broke the crankshaft. Jim placed second, a small consolation with a free Hoosier. Josh Dunn placed third with a 2:27.9 followed by jeff with a 2.34.4. There were seven in class.
Todd faired ok in TTC again, with his two main competitors bringing more Hoosiers
Saturday Todd ran a 2.34.8 for third place, and Sunday he ran a 2.34.2, a slight improvement, but still only good for third.
More to come!
