Can a 2010 EVO X GSR be competive in STU or is it too heavy?
Really need to know before I start throwing money at mine.
Thanks

It could be, locally. Nationally not so much. It's so heavy and being limited to 245's hurts that car a lot. With that being said, I only know one guy that has really tried to make one work -Terry Fair. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/mo...one-lap-8.html cliff notes: didn't work out so great.
I'd love for someone to throw me a X and $20k and let me give it a go at STU
If you really want to try, you have to start with very good coilovers.

yes local...not a chance at nationals...weight is the reason...at national level everybody is good driver...300 lbs difference is to much to overcome (braking, corner speed) My friend Craig Wilcox has won nationals multiple times in numerous classes and prosolo. He has also won in an evo. and he has said no chance in 10. His weapon of choice was a evo 9 se with ast 5200 and every mod allowed in class. The guy that set up the car is a national level driver that has trophy in stu. also is in a evo 9 se.I can give you this guys # in a PM if your serious. He has set up numerous evos that trophy or win nationals.

I think a full tilt build and good driving could probably get you into the trophies, but not into a jacket. Remember that the Vorshlag car was an MR, not a GSR, so it was definitely heavier than it needed to be. And they gave up on it after a year.
