Road Course: Part throttle drivabilitly

I was curious what helps combat boost surge during part throttle application while on road courses?

My personal example is my RS has a hard time with turn 3(medium length left hand sweeper) at Road Atlanta, between 10a and b at Road Atlanta, or anytime I run up on a slower car mid corner. I normally keep the car in fourth and coast until I can full throttle down through the Esses. If I try and give it part throttle the car boost surges and bucks, which is not ideal.

Can tuning correct this? Lower boost level(car was at 24psi)? MAF vs Speed Density? I've seen coil on plug setups advertise that it eliminates boost surge, is there some truth to this?

I'm just trying to make the car be as smooth as possible.

Thanks and cheers

Craig

I am assuming electronic, as I have not experienced these issues on a mbc. Usually it is an improperly setup ebcs. You need the wgdc maps set up properly, if you are on v7, wgdc by gear is your new friend .. Also there is a possibility your wgdc 100% until xxx load needs properly configured.

I just went SD and never looked back. My car had bad part-throttle issues, and I couldn't take it anymore. Did the conversion, and all was dandy.

Forge diverter valve. Hallman MBC. Buschur hard pipes, intake, and intercooler. Not sure on the Tephra mod level...

I've heard this before, but I have also heard complaints as well. Pros and cons from a road racers point of view?

From what I understand, SD does away with that since it has all to do with the MAF. Chu has told be before that his part throttle issue are all gone now since his conversion.

Isnt that Forged BOV adjustable? If so, loosen up the preload and give it a try.

This could also be a tuning issue, but could be other things as well.

Not sure. It came with the car and I haven't messed with it. I will check it out tonight. Unfortunately the car is currently out of commission with the motor being built. I'm trying to get a game plan together when building the new setup.

I carry a lot of momentum through turn 2 that 3rd was too low for me and I found myself shifting into 4th mid corner, which I wasn't a fan of either. I use to downshift to 3rd going into turn 2, but once my speed got higher through turn 1 I was able to hussel through turn 2, keeping it in 4th all the way till turn 5.

Keeping it in 4th, for me, is just plain faster.

I hope that all made sense lol.
