Oil Change Interval with Track Days?

I currently am on a fresh oil change of Dominator RD30 and usually have OCI's of 3k miles. My question is: does this change when I do a track day or can I go to 3k without changing?

I'm just passing 4k miles on my ZROD 20W50 and will be doing a change in the next few days. I have 2 track days and 1 auto-x day on this oil.

I would say it depends on how many track days you do per oil change. Having your oil analyzed at blackstone labs for example could help you know if you need to shorten your OCI or if you're fine leaving it at 3k. In my case they've actually been telling me I could go to a longer OCI when I was doing them around 3.5k.

My rule is every track day I go to, I go on fresh oil.

If i have a track event a few days after another one, I still change the oil again.

i typically change before every event, but i dont always change the filter if it has been many miles. i also take into account how many track miles/how hot i got it too.

a track day for me is usually 400 miles round trip plus 100 on track.

the way i look at it, more frequent oil changes is cheap insurance against a $5k bill for a new motor.

What about if you have a two day event and you're camping on-site? Oil change after the first day?

I change oil before every event. An event being a two-day weekend, I run the same oil both days with some extra in my SUV in case I need to top off.

I've done 3 days on mine plus street miles to and from the track and its been fine. I don't know that I would stretch it past 4 though. Maybe on a real high-end oil. Most of the time I change it after 2. I use M1 High Mileage 10w-40.

I run Amsoil 20w50 high zonc on a built motor, running about 3-4 track days before changes. I keep an eye on level. I am comfortable doing my oil changes every 3-4 track days. Autox and highway miles don't matter to me.

I'm known to change fluids very frequently. I recently sent a sample of Mobil 1 5w30 EP to Blackstone with about 1000 miles on it with about 200-300 of that track miles (2 days). It all looked good despite high lead levels which they said indicated bearing wear but they weren't entirely sure. I'm going to try Amsoil high zinc 10w30 next and see what the difference is.
