Cronus Rally Evo IX "FR"
Cronus Rally has a new monster in the stable.
The team has moved into a VERY open Evo9.
Here are the stats:
Shell: built from a brand-new white RS shell in 2007, seam-welded, T45 (chromoly) cage by CustomCages UK, logbooked Rally America.
Lots of little tricks: raised intercooler, moustache-bar delete, hard-bar rear diff mounts, reversed upper rear link studs, harness moved inboard, plated towers, reinforced subframes, skidplates including Kevlar tank cover.
Lightened to Rally America/CARS minimums (2900lbs in race trim including skid plates.
Reverse-opening trunklid with WRC-style rear wing (car flies flat at speed), scratch-resistant Lexan side and formed rear glass, OEM front glass.
Carbon aero mirrors.
Engine: AMS-built 2.3L 11:1 stroker, Crower rods, JE pistons. 300 to 450hp depending on tune and restrictor
Management: Motec M800 with anti-lag and launch control; ethanol, race gas, and pump gas maps
Diff management: Ralliart active center diff controller, plus BTR manual override and “ditch extraction” hot buttons, and digital dual diff pressure readout on dash.
Suspension: Exe-TC Evo9 Gravel, Ohlins TTX progressive-rate dampers as spares. Winter, gravel, and rough tarmac springs.
Differentials: Ralliart front diff, re-ramped rear clutch diff, active center
Gearbox: OEM synchromesh for Targa Modern rules. Two Gemini dogboxes (finals differ)
Clutch: Exedy Super Triple carbon clutch
Brakes: ALCON front rally calipers on 12” two-piece rotors, twin Tilton master cylinders with adjustable balance bar, hydraulic handbrake with center diff release, OEM rear Brembos with gravel wheel scrapers
Turbo: OEM Evo9 34mm restrictor
Exhaust: OEM O2 housing and 2.5” with cat for Targa rules; uprated O2 housing
Interior: Carbon fiber door and dash panels, STACK integrated dash, Coralba C-Giant rally computer on carbon mount, raised shifter, Recaro seats, Sparco belts, Peltor FMT-110 and FMT 120 intercoms, carbon roof air vent and ducts
Ex ACP car that ran on both sides of the border and at X-Games. Winner or Targa and many overall wins.

The Car has needed a good refresh before its debut this year. Progress photos can be found HERE
The interior after a few solid weeks of work. Amazingly 20lbs was removed from just the wiring and excess brackets. (approx 10lbs put back in via new wiring and control work)

I am the Co-Driver for the team. I do the electrical work on the car, we have a couple top notch mechanics that keep the cars running. Our Evo 8 finished all 15 events we entered in the last 2 years.
