If Ferrari remains as reliable as the last couple of years, it could be a big year for Schumacher... Remember, they only get one engine per driver per weekend now.

Glad to see you're watching it, too, FT!

The cars look really good this year, too. Different types of front ends, different sidepods, etc.

So help me, if either Schumacher gets preferential treatment again this year.. I feel for Montoya and Barrichello. I'd like to see Toyota really come on strong too.

Doh.. Toyota jsut spun...

Argh All those SMT's with automatic upshift... must.. get.. SMT Evo...

It looks like the only preferential treatment he'll need is to not get bored while running away from the field... LOL

Reminds me of McLaren a few years ago when they lapped the field in Australia.

It looks like Ferrari went out on a super light fuel load. Looks more like a intimidation tactic.. Everyone else it looks to be doing fuel consumption testing. checking how deep they can go with probably full fuel..

I don't think they're on a light load - they didn't do it last year. The have the upper hand by merely requiring an EVOLUTION (had to get the Evo in here somewhere) of the F2003-GA, which won the constructors' and drivers' championship again.

Awesome stuff.

He's running slower now.. more fuel on board is my guess. and he's working harder and using more of the track..

He just set two fast sector times... I think he's running race fuel weight. One of the laps he was held up by a Minardi. This should be fun to watch this season... Goodnight!

Gotta love those red cars, though.

I thought McClunken would do better with a car they spent a year and a half building. I guess Mitsu isn't the only one that doesn't get the full good out of offline development time.

WRC hardware: EVO7: $30k.
F1 hardware: Enzo: $650k.
World champ sportscar: Original 250GTO: priceless

I miss the days when Ferrari ran in sports cars, using streetable hardware.

They still do in FIA GT with the 550 GT (now 575 GTS) and the 360 GT. Of course they are privateer entries, but they are still factory-developed cars (except for the 550 GT - developed by Prodrive).
