my personal experience with a X gsr is the X is extremely reliable car.
Def better rally car then a ct9a. Hpde should be no issue with a x.
I do harder races on the car then hpde without anyproblem to blame the car.
No gas pedal broke etc.

I had one issue which was def. A manufacturer mistake . Cmc...

Other then that my engine blown because the tuner and bad gas combination.

Drive train is still original which came with a car in 2008, including bushings ,control arms , swaybars you name it.

Rear diff got changed due rally task. Ayc got out after 14k miles and still working in an other member evo...Still on original ayc pump in my car etc.
Car has 16k+ no street miles.

Aww, sad to see it go so soon, but TBH, I think a 944 or a Miata would be a better "pound on it all day long, ZFG" car. Or hey, base FWD Lancers with zero mods whatsoever are pretty great.

I have to wonder what else the previous owner did, TBH. Lightly modified is fine, just depends on what it was and/or if anything might've been taken off before you got it. Bunch of bolt-ons without a tune to match = 'sgonna 'splode.

I haven't seen too many issues with the X on track, so I hate that you had such a bad experience with it. Then again, most of them were modified and had to do a lot of extra upkeep/preventative maintenance that my little Lancer GTS doesn't have to bother with.

Late model Cayman S = 08+, I'm guessing? The early ones occasionally munch engines like the early Boxsters do. One of my friends ran into that $15k oopsie with his '06. Supposedly there were a whole host of reliability upgrades on the later cars, though.

(And yay, more LeMons folk!)

i'd say your cars a liittle more prepped than this one was

also, OP's modifications tended to be reactive rather than proactive. don't get me wrong a lot of people do that, but these cars aren't turnkey race cars as people like to think they are

From what I've seen, the evo is a great sprinter and when the power is modified, It's good for 20-25 minutes max before "things" start to happened.

I don't know why but the OP's situation reminded me of this.... skip to 1:30
