Track days in Spokane ( FATT )

Some time soon we need a strong EVO showing at a FATT track day in Spokane, schedule here.

If you aren’t familiar with the track day format for a FATT it’s a true open track. Due to the rather small turn outs we can open the track from 9 to 5 with no run groups for the ultimate lapping day! Yes that’s right, NO RUN GROUPS! I can get 250 miles in a day easily; obviously you can do as much as you want. Unfortunately the FATT price has risen to $195 due to insurance issues. (The insurance issue is a long story due to the track being in receivership)

If you’re interested you need to contact Scott Adare sadare@aol.com with whom you will discuss your qualifications. Basically if this is your first or maybe second ever track day you will have to pay extra for a ride along instructor. Otherwise its everyone solo after a quick check out by a local track expert.

I realize it’s a long trip for most reading this but worth it! For the extra mileage you can rack up you will have a blast.

Let me introduce myself

My name is Bob, I live in Post Falls, ID and drive an 05 Evolution. Drivetrain is stock but I have the Robispec Basic suspension kit. I just recently disassemble my 96 Talon Tsi which was my track day fun car for 10 years. It was set up well but the engine and everything else on it is tired or outdated. The EVO was a great upgrade and I enjoy it immensely. I’ve been involved in track days for 15 years and autocross for about 17 years. I rarely autocross anymore but I make about 6 or 7 track days each year.

I plan on some brake upgrades in the future followed by engine mods, after reading the times of some around hear I am itching to get my car in the 11’s!

That’s about it. So lets plan some track days!

how about July 21 and then lets put togethter a track rental on the next day, Saturday. Two days of track would be worth the trip!

How many drivers would we need to keep a track rental affordable?

Saturdays are drag racing days. Gates usually open at 3 for the races so Im not sure if you could rent it in the morning or not. Im down for coming out and watching but the almost $200+ gas is alittle much for me right now.

I’ll be there! As far as private track rental its probably not feasible, based on the responses to this idea thus far. To rent the track for less then $200 a driver, when the local 928 club rents they have to put an invitation out to local track day junkies (like me!) in order to help cover the cost and they normally have around 15 members show up. Then there is a new issue concerning insurance, the stupid track owner never had insurance so as far as I know we would have to bring our own insurance and that’s certainly not cost feasible.

However, if we have a lot of interest I can talk with the local BMW CCA track day organizer and see if we can work something out.

oh boy you are not kidding, figure four runs a day with the bmw or porsche clubs, (here on the west side), 4x20 minutes @$175. now if one of those bmws gets to loose, there goes another ten minutes from your day.
it sounds like at fatt you run till you can't afford the gas, or it gets dark.

when i looked at the sched, that Saturday looked blank. but yeah, no way we are going to collect twenty or thirty guys at this rate.

Lets not forget Spokane has an unusually high crime rate for WA and has alot of religious radicals.
