Selling a track prepped EVO is not an easy sale! You would have to have one hell of an EVO to expect even 35k. Personally the engine and those kind of things are not going to gain you much in resale. You will get a bit more if you have some very good interior parts (seats, fire systems, Data aq/digital dash) and some a very good aero package and wheels.

FWIW, It took me about 9 months to sell mine and i took about 3k less then i thought it was worth. The buyer pool is very slim when it comes to having cash to buy a car that is not street legal. And honestly, the guys that are actually racing and have a clue probably wouldnt be buying an EVO to race. lol

Ya I agree. Some of the major mods on my car are ams 2.0 bottom end, o ringed block, built head jun 272 cams, Jun springs and retainers, cosworth valves, mild port and Polish, Jun cam gears, crank scraper, baffled oil pan, accusump, tranny is stock 8 trans, cusco 1.5 diff in front, cusco 2.0 way in rear with mustache delete, ( the diff setup is very nasty when suspension is set up properly for it) tein super racings with custom spring rates, stop tech 4 piston front brakes with springs to prevent knock back, cusco and whiteline bushings anywhere they can possibly be, bump steer correction, enkie nto3 18x9.5 27 offset with Nitto nto1 275/35, brand new precision bb 5858 with new everything mani/ oil lines everything new, custom rear toe in toe out adjustment bar( forgot the name for it) solid mounts on everything but tranny that's ams poly, full race vertical flow inter cooler( small and very efficient) lower inter cooler pipe is about 3" long, short route upper ams piping( runs behind head light cover). Sparco pro seat and harness, Sparco wheel, very high quality 6 point cage, sorry that was so long and I'm sure I've missed some stuff. I have done a lot of weight reduction getting the car sub 2700. How much you think I could get 20 grand?

car was sold for no less than that price-

originally had a buyer 3 years ago at 110K- and we didnt want to let the car go- the market has changed dramatically-

it's very difficult to sell a car like this when its single purpose is a track car- keeping it "streetable" seems to retain some marginal value-

I believe the car is for sale again- since the new owner had an "off" with it and damaged it the first time out.

Any idea of the damage, or what he is looking to sell for it?

Yeah the whole right side is damaged. He spun in the bus stop at Watkins and put it in the tires. I have pictures somewhere. Don't want to post them without his consent tho...

That is a shame. Hopefully the car can be brought back to life. It was a work of art.

Easiest way I know of to post pics, is save them on photobucket, then link the IMG urls in the thread.

If you are serious about selling a your car you will need lots of pics and lots of info about the car. Track cars raise a ton of questions for any potential buyer.

Return it to as stock as possible then sell.

Most buyers will go to the bank for a loan and the bank won't loan out more than the value of a stock like evo. It's a shame but you pretty much need to undo what you did to sell it.

I think 20k is going to be about right. I think that i would value it at about 23k but you need to find the right buyer.

Some of the things that help sell race cars are pedigree/log books and network of people in racing that have seen the car run or know something about it. My car holds about 10 track/hill records and was very well known in the hillclimb community. It helped sell the car in the end because he knew a bunch of the people i have raced against and he had seen the car race. The racing world is pretty small and if you built a car that people know, then you are way better off.

Ya there is no way this car is going back to anywhere close to stock lol doors all cut all interior tabs shaved wiring all cut to minimum. I did however retain the headlight wiring so i do have headlights in it right now so it could be driven on the street depending on where you live. When I put it up for sale I will defiantly be posting tons of pics and full mod list for sure.
