Well, the only way to have a hope for some changes is to send letters to SEB. If the talk about wider tires for STU AWD cars end here, aside from more frustration for all of us here (except for a troll that is showing of with his Z ), nothing else will change.

From what Ive gleaned over years of watching the debacle, the SEB is a board of politicians with their own agenda. And they are all seemingly against AWD. They killed all but ASP for SP awd competitiveness, lump AWD cars in Street a class higher than they need to be, and STU is now a wasted place for AWD. Hell, even prepared is a **** show with obsurd restrictors to keep a 45 year old car competitive

Im just waiting for AWD penalty in SP or bumping the C5 z06 to ASP and ruin the last place for Evos to really play.

Letters were written, many, thoughtful and poignant letters, members attended the open-house meeting at Nationals, discussed our concerns in-person, face to face...

I don't think my opinion would be appreciated on the STAC, I'm not from texas.

plus I'm already on a different advisory committee, i don't think they let you do more than one.

Like Bluto said... nothing is over.

Total STU cars in the last 3 years at Tours-other-than-Nats:
* 2012: 70
* 2013: 68
* 2014: 66

Total STU cars at Nats:
* 2012: 28
* 2013: 27
* 2014: 18

The boost buggie participation dropped off at Nats in 2014, but it was relatively steady at other Tours. It has not come up officially in Fastrack yet.. there still could be something on the horizon.

I still really like the car and STU is still fun locally.. not going to throw in the towel just yet. Just going to try to go to as many Tours as possible to stand up and be counted.

18x10 front and rear? I thought people were running 9.5's in the back to do that usually.

I ran 18x10 square setup when I was on 285 "skinnies" as well.

Yup, I ran 18x11 up front and 18x10 in the rear. On 285/30s.

I know of 4 STU cars that didn't show up at Nats in '14 because of the RWD debacle.

^5... not just nationals, but I am in the process of parting mine out all together, and not sure if I'll keep the stock RS, or if it will be sold as well.

Have made some great friends and had some good times with the STU group locally and nationally, guess I'll see what my car future holds for me... likely will not be a nationally competitive AWD car though... track or TT is starting to sound better w/ Mid Ohio in my backyard.

If the STi isn't sold before Spring Nats...I might do something stupid and buy some tires and see what happens, especially if Bryan or any other fast cars come out. We've yet to see how supposedly bad the difference is as it stands now at Lincoln. I would argue that with many of the AWD guys from 2013 not running in 2014, there are still plenty of questions to be answered.

But I do agree that AWD should be upped to 265's. I think that's also a good way to help the newer and heavier AWD cars have the potential to be more competitive as well. Just makes sense.

I'd go as far as to say match the 2wd tire limit. The 350z and C5 are capable enough to be competitive even if the awd cars have 285s, and I would think most people would agree.

You're never going to get buy in for that move. Best that could be done is 265's, and I really think that the Vette/350Z were put into the class with the idea that AWD performance could be improved by changing the tire limits...which many already wanted. But to think they'll allow 285 (although very few could use it) is unlikely.

To clarify, I meant most people in the STU awd community. I doubt it'll go over well with the rwd guys or the STAC.
