Yes, fender liners are "required" ...but can be modified to clear.
will I have to modify them to clear with this mod? from what it sounds like this will push it forward enough that I won't have to

I'm really quite close - it's just rubbing at a certain angle when the front wheel is turned where it just starting rubbing - similarly to you, but at the bottom of that area, few inches below where your arrow is. Just need a little bit to push it forward, so 5/16" forward sounds perfect.

I'm running oversized tires but I didn't think I'd have a clearance issue, but I guess that's caster plates for ya.. 225/50-17 for dailys, 245/45-17 re71rs for autox.

::

think i'll go ahead and order mine from MAP! I need to clear the fenders... any impact on ride quality or NVH? I'm assuming not with the same ratio metal to rubber/poly whatever

depends entirely on your setup, but yes, I would guess that you will still rub on the liner. We still are. I was just trying to get it away from the metal... and let the liner sort itself out.

taller is just as bad as wider, maybe arguably worse... depending.

I'll probably only take the Evo up once though. Just to try out the Ohlins Flags... If I ever get around to buying the right springs and aligning it.

Awww crap, I need luck now?

I have a flow chart for how STU goes at Devens. Basically if I show up I win, unless Barbato shows up in which case he wins. But if Rachel ends up driving my car, I would have won if not for that cone on my fastest run.

Sometimes I just stay home and allocate myself a trophy glass out of the collection to save myself a lot of time and driving.

STU Evos and STis should've asked for 285s. Now that the RE71s are offered in that size, the 350Z and C5s will have a greater advantage.

I wrote in asking the STAC to limit the RWD boys to 275 wide tires.

At least it is better than it was!

285s were coming either way and 285 vs. 265 is way better than 285 vs. 245

The best thing we can do here is to see how this ratio works and go from there!

we can barely legally fit them can we? not that we're the only awd stu player, but doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.. my proposal was to bump rwds back down to 265 lol. obviously shot down
