Here is some advance info on the owners' car show. The official RIM website will be updated ASAP Thanks Phil
What's going on guys, basically this is in concerns with an upcoming event/car show being held at the brand new Antelope Valley Fairgrounds in Lancaster, CA. For those of you who are not familiar with Rim Of The World, this is basically a WRC style event, and this being the first ever Super Stage event held in CA, it is bound to be a big event. This is a brand new venue and includes a 30,000 square foot air-conditioned vendor’s exhibit hall and a side-by-side Super Special stage with grandstand seating to accommodate 7,500 spectators. All service stops will be centralized at the fairgrounds in a lighted blacktop area 50% larger than last year’s.
Slipstream Global has been contracted by ROTW to assist them in producing a car show portion at this event and it would be awesome to get the support of Nasioc.com out of Socal to come to this venue. Rim of the World would like to see a variety of cars ranging from nissans to hondas to mitsubishis. We are looking to gather around 250-300 vehicles for this event and with the support of you guys, this can be a very attainable goal. The event will take place on May 7th-8th, however the car show will only be on the 8th. Roll-in will be the day of, and car show trophies as well as cash prizes will be presented to those to win. Registration will be $25 per vehicle depending on the amount of vehicles registered, which will include two tickets. Your immediate confirmation would be greatly appreciated due to the fact this is of such short notice. If you have any questions regarding the event please do not hesitate to give me a call, or shoot me an email. Thanks again.
Best Regards,
Fred Chang

I'll be working at the event, along with many SCLC members, but I'm sure plenty of them would like to drop their Lancers off at the car show and carpool up to the Sat stage.
Here is the entry list for the rally, this is going huge!!!!!!!!!
70 cars to date, max is 80.

I almost forgot about the busses. I believe Denise said it's free for workers. Also, they might still need volunteers to drive them. If anyone is interested in getting a more up close view of the world of Rally racing, please go to http://www.rimoftheworldrally.com/work.htm and sign up. I had an awesome experience last year and am doing it again this year. But I would like to see more Mitsus, as last year looked like a sea of Subarus!!!

Phil, I'm serious. We played "count the Imprezas" driving from Spunky Canyon back to the motel last year. There were 3 in a row behind me, 2 in front of me, when we reached the 1st turn, 4 Subarus and an SUV went by, then we caught up to another one, and saw 2 coming up in my rear view mirror, saw 2 in a row waiting as we went through an intersection, another waiting at another intersection, 2 stopped on the side of the road, and that whole time somewhere around 15 of them went by going the other way! That was just a 10 mile drive and when we got in town, there were Subarus all over the streets and parking lots. And out of all that, we saw only ONE lancer not involved in SCLC or Cal Slam that entire weekend.
