Talking Ok, this is funny......

I raced many years ago, and had very many large sponsors. Since doing Solo and DE events again, I have toyed with the idea of racing yet again, but turned it down because I hated the pressure to perform that is put on by sponsors, which you have to have to be competitive.

Well, fast forward to today. I was on the phone with a guy who runs a tire place, and before you know, I scored my first sponsor. He is siked, as am I. Granted, it's not the budget I had before, no where near, but when someone is helping with tires, brakes, etc, just for DE events and Solo, it sure makes it easier on the wallet.

I tell you all, life is funny sometimes, he doesn't care how the car does in the events, if they are timed at all, he is just looking for exposure.

Here comes new slicks for daddy........

How do you get someone to sponsor you for DE's? That's awesome.

Because exposure is exposure, and that is a good thing for any business in the car arena. In fact, I would argue that DE's are the place for performance and tire shops to do this kind of stuff, because they are laid back enough to truly discuss the product and see how it helps the 'common' man at the track, not someone with 30 years of driving experience in a 750hp car.

Last track event, I gave 3 rides, to which I sold one person on my tuner, and another on the evo. One person was just for giggles, but he had a blast. When, at a 'race' could you do that? DE's are the prime place to do this kind of stuff, kind of a 'best' kept secret.

Makes sense. Time to hit up some local vendors.
