Pretty much. I can heat/cool it with power too which has paid for itself time and time again. No more waterproof containers with padlocks, cable locks, tarps, yada yada. Would only want an open again for the ease of use for non race weekends or really short trips.

Having a place it sit out of the weather is nice too. Just sit in the trailer. Don't even need an easy up and worry the stupid thing getting blown into someone's expensive *** car, or yours...lol

well i ended up finding a great deal on a 32' ATC aluminum. too good to pass up. once the snow is gone we'll have to try stuffing two cars - but its not looking good unless we want to take off bumpers.

Not really a great deal if you have to do that much work to get 2 cars in it.

Depends - a 32' alum enclosed could be resold if it was really that good of a deal. Beyond that you won't have very much fun trying to drive a 48' around . A stacker or 2 car open are what move end up moving to.

Not aluminum. But a modern diesel pickup won't care. Need to step up my truck game...hah

Hmm, makes me wary that its uber cheaply made for that price. I'd guess 5-6k lbs empty lol.

exactly!

we don't have to take two cars - it would just be nice for spare parts. a local guy has a CRX he hillclimbs and that would fit easily with the evo. it two evo's with big wings and splitters that is going to prove a challenge.

i wouldnt mind a 48' GN but some of the hills we go to are tight mountain locations that would pretty much require backing up the hill a couple miles to get to the pits. or driving the car farther to pit. either way its un-ideal

That makes more sense. Your original post made it sound like you needed it to fit two Evo's.

Just a Honda 3000i. Not what I would have picked out personally but it's there. going to run all 12v lights with 2 or possibly 4 6v batteries. The generator will only power the ac and a building in 3stg floating charger. It should be enough amperage. We ran a Honda 2000i for our ac last year (10,000 btu ac) and it was barely enough. Sometimes it would kick on and others it wouldn't. Once it's running it could run all night. I think the trailer is 13,500 but haven't checked yet.

What model of ac/heat? I was looking at the 15k units but I'm not sure if the 3k would run it.

Ended up with the 15k Atwood from eTrailer. It says 13.x amps but you gotta figure double that startup right? So 26-28amps peak . I have a loud old construction genny thats 3200 and I'm gonna wire it up in the garage on the sawhorses and see if that chokes or not. May also try and borrow the old man's 3000i and will let you know but that's likely a month away.

in-rush current can sometimes be up to 3x the normal running current depending on the attached load.
