Gridlife South 2017
I know it's still a ways out but anyone else going again this year? Tickets are purchased and cars in pieces but I'll make good on the comeback this year
Heck yeah we'll be there. Already paid, rented a house, and new car is near ready.
We'll be pitting by our friends at RS Motorsports like last year.
Even built a pit bike to cruise around in. Last year was a beach, so stinking hot, and walking to the various events wore me out.
Heck of an event. Time Attack, Drifting, Car Show, Concerts, Vendors. And really great folks.

Still thinking about it. Honda challenge car is now eating the money I probably need to make the evo more competitive. Round 1 brought out some weaknesses in my car.
I would really like to, but I'm reserved after the amount of incidents that occurred last year with those not familiar with the track. I can't say first hand, but I also got mixed reviews on the flow of the event and paddock (first gridlife at road Atlanta so I know growing pains are expected). I can only afford 2-3 events a year and one where the odds are significantly higher that someone can ruin my day concerns me.
Not it trying to tarnis the Gridlife name. Anyone who was there last year have any insight?
Cheers!

I think it's something you have to experience once at least. However tt tends to attract a different kind of spectator from your normal track weekend. Normally you can leave million dollar setups laying out there and nobody will breath on it - but with GL we had several incidents even in broad daylight (not from other drivers but they did step in). Granted now, we do drive evo's so some of that I get but still ya know.
After talking with Balrok this past weekend. I'm going to try and make Gridlife happen for me this year. I just need to get my oil cooler situation in order and finish the break in. Anyone want to donate some tires lol
As for "incidences" last year, you will find that it happens at every track. You just have to prepare for them as best you can. Last year we camped right next to the car in the pits. Only thing that happened to us was some drunk chick next to us roaming around in the middle of the night screaming at her boyfriend.
This year with renting a house, have to decide whether to haul everything back and forth or not.
That said, I do have a suggestion for RA and/or GL, do a better job with flaggers. Some of them were asleep at the wheel or they weren't being given info on accidents in time, and from what I saw, there were places they should have been and weren't. Maybe RA should step up and install track warning lights.
But all in all, even with the loss of our car, we had a great time.
