Hello,
I know this is an old one, but hopefully someone on here can help. I have an 03 Evo non-acd, and have been trying to figure what part# for a Cusco front LSD to fit my car. I tried MFactory at first to get one of theirs, but they have discontinued manufacturing of the model to fit my car.
Thanks in advance,

Heh, just a little. I fought it, turns out shocks helped with that "stiffer".

i emailed them and they mentioned that they had received feedback about fitment issues. No ETA on a re-release. Originally Posted by Dallas J

I'm in the same boat having an 03. After 2 full days at Sonoma this last weekend I left there firm on the idea that I wanted to upgrade from my open front diff to a 1 way.
I was about to order a wavetrac but my car is pretty much a dedicated track toy at this point.
Any other avenues you guys can recommend to get my hands on one?

I plan to do same or Quaife. I prefer those to a clutch-type, up front. Originally Posted by ayoustin

Clutch type have their advantages for sure, namely easy adjustability. The PO put the wavetrac in on my car but it's fantastic how much it pulls the front end through a corner. The nice thing about the wavetrac too is how it doesn't turn into an open diff if you lift one wheel like a normal torsen style does.
The wavetrac may advertise some amount of preload but thats pretty much gone in the first thousand miles. Its going to act exactly like an OEM front LSD with the benefit of not blowing up.
EDIT: One thought to add, if you are lifting/spinning a front wheel on throttle, add more rear bar. If you're lifting a rear wheel already, adding more rear bar will only help to keep the inside front loaded more on throttle.

This is what I was told by the person that has helped me with setting up my car. He advised that the Wavetrac will perform similar to a Torsen or Quaiffe and has recommended to go with a clutch type diff.
My 8 is now at a point where it's a dedicated track car so rebuilding and adjusting will just be the norm.

I would 100% go with 1way clutch type for all racing scenarios at this point. Torsen types are purely for lack of service and find for a street car. Mfactory was a good option but took a little work to get the bearing side sized right and I guess that's why they pulled them? Hopefully they bring it back cause its half the price of the cusco diff. If you have the money, cusco is certainly the way to go though.
How about the stock 9 front diff, I know it's helical. How does it stack up compared to wavetrac/clutch type lsd's?

I am sending my Wavetrac for upgraded preload setup,
It looks like "capacitor plates", two round plates (thick wafers about 3-4" in diameter, connected by "something": perhaps springs or?
I head that Wavetrac had an upgrade, to get more aggressive lock, and finally spoke to them during recent Porsche event at Laguna.
So rumor has it that Wavetrac has some friction material that wears in 1000 miles, but I never saw any proof of this concept.
Possible explanation could be that end-users got accustomed to the traction of Wavetrac and after initial perception of "added grip", they perceive it to not be grabbing as well.
I am bringing this up because the upgrade of this assembly could be simple way forward for track-guys, perhaps while doing annual service, T-case can be taken down conveniently.
