Are the "vents" on the wing's end plates supposed to help with air flow around the end plates?

supposed to reduce induced drag from the vortex by creating lots of small vortex's instead of one big one. i cant confirm if its working or not without putting in a wind tunnel but think we have the theory right.

Have a watch of this video. it explains the end flaps near the end but most of it is valid for why we have our wing the way it is.

I've watched a bunch of his vids but clearly missed this one. Thanks for sharing. Starts talking about those vents around 11:00 mark. Interesting stuff.

theres a bunch of links and times to the livestream videos of our class in the first page of this thread. Heres a bunch more of the 3 races just been this weekend.

I had a 3 lap side by side battle with an evo 3 despite having no 5th gear which didnt get much airtime which sucked. the livestream director could definately do a better job in picking up where the action is on track haha.

Anyway. We have 2 classes racing together. gt1 and gt2. We are in GT2. The first race the lead car in GT2 is the red rx7 and i was starting second.

P2 in the first race.

Fast forward to 2hr 34min for the race

https://livestream.com/accounts/1373...deos/170025593

Race 2:

1hr 21min for race start. P2 also in this one. we lost 5th gear on the 3rd lap. i was pulling in the eventual leader by over 2 seconds a lap before this happens. also did a bit of offroading due to being distracted by losing 5th and forgot to brake haha.

https://livestream.com/accounts/1373...deos/170055642

Race 3:

28 minutes in is race start. P3 in this one. we had no 5th gear for the entire race so we were somewhat handicapped. i also tried to soften up th rear shocks for the wet but it made the car around 1.5 seconds slower weirdly. The track was also very dry on the infield but wet on the outside which was bizare and the wet tyres didnt like it much.

So we quali P2, came P2 in race 1 and 2, and P3 in race 3 which gave us the overall round win. so pretty stoked with that.

and race start from the blue evo 6 behind me.

I got boxed in by the slow starting cars 2 rows infront of me unfortunately and had to lift out of the gas.

Facebook Post

and from the perspective of the red rx7 (check out how he goes 2 wheels on the grass to get round the guys infront of us)

Ever thought of moving to 11" or 12" wide wheel to better fit 295 tyre?

The 295 fits perfect on 10.5 rim haha.

280 640 equivalent slick from pirelli is recommended to be placed on a 10.5 rim also so yea stuck with the 10.5s for now doubt id fit an 11 or 12inch rim anyway haha

There also arent many reasonably priced 11 and 12" wheels in the right offset to fit in the rear. All the wider wheels have too low of an offset pushing things out too far. Fine if you have big flares, but not if you're trying to get everything inside and narrow as possible.
