I've noticed a lot of comments about how if you don't take your evo to the track you are seriously missing out.

Is anyone familiar with tracks available in Colorado? How much does it usually cost to take your evo to the track?

Google search for "race tracks Colorado". You will get local results and can read up from there. Each track will have a website with a schedule and entry fees.

If you are talking about drag racing, you aren't missing out on much, IMO. A stock Evo isn't built for drag strips and are pretty much unimpressive. However... it's better than mashing the gas pedal around town, so there is that.

You can also search for events in your area on www.motorsportreg.com . There should be a lot of different types of events listed there too, not just track days. Since that site is used to register you can usually see how much they cost there as well (but before registering for anything I'd google search to see if any discounts are available). Other places to look would be SCCA's Track Night in America and NASA's HPDE. Lastly, maybe try searching or posting something in the regional forum on here to see if anyone there has experience or ideas.

Colorado has a good AutoX following too which is much cheaper than Track and easier on the car. Though far less actual seat time. Both are fun though.

I'm in Colorado and can probably help answer some questions. We have 4 main tracks (not drag strips), High Plains Raceway, Pikes Peak International raceway, Pueblo motorsport park and La Junta raceway. Plenty of organizations run there, so cost really depends on the organization you sign up with. Additionally, each track offers their own hot lapping days which can some times be cheaper.

If you are confident with your car, its a good thing but take it easy on your first.day out things happen fast out there
